Wow, what a beautiful, wistful story. Rick's pain in thinking Kate doesn't love him is sooo sad. This time in the series has always made my heart hurt for Rick. So much longing, so many broken dreams and wishes. I love the angst in their relationship at that time. It hurts so good.

The imagery here's really strong! Great stuff. Poor Rick, I really felt for him through the whole 47 seconds thing and its aftermath.

I ;love this! Having a fantasy version of her seems so real! I wonder if he ever would have been caught talking to her by Martha or Alexis... Or mixed them up with the real Beckett? I could have seen that happening (Something that couldn't really have been shown in the show, but would have been very in character for him).

Is Beckett dead in this story?

That was one of the saddest things I've read about that period in his life.

Good piece - well conceptualized and then fleshed out - very well written from the standpoint of how Castle is dealing with the situation and how the gift effects him !

Such a great story! So emotional and I can seriously imagine this happening. I'm sure Castle (as a character) has tons of dialogue in his head-to write it's almost necessary to have that type of an imagination) so that makes this even more tragic.
