The dialogue, internal and external, is so spot on and amusing that I forgot about the whole doomsday thing. XD Well done!

There was a lot of beautiful stuff in this story, but I feel it was somehow diminished by the somewhat goofy plot vehicle. I know Castle is a bit silly sometimes, but I feel like the bunker went a bit beyond that.

I've been reading fics (at the moment,going through your fic) and I've had the TV on, on a music channel. And a minute or two after I started reading this fic, a new song started. I went "oh, I love this song! Hey, wait a sec... isn't this...?"

It was R.E.M.'s "It's the End of the World (But I Feel Fine)". XD

Ohh, I remember you telling me about this when you were writing it, before I'd started watching the show and I was totally confused but always meant to go back and find it -

I liked it. A lot. I confess, the doomsday thing totally sucked me in. What can I say? Too much X-Files. The banter was my favorite, of course, because I'm a sucker for banter. And them, of course I love them, and Kate's proposal made me giggle. Correction, Castle's going grammar nazi made me giggle. And the LOTR ring - HA. Hilarious.

I'm glad I went looking for this one.

O wow I love this. You should really keep going with it

Just found this story for the first time - and it was such a surprising treat. I had no idea what to expect going in, and I wasn't sold after the first chapter... But I'm really glad I stuck it out. The story kept pleasantly surprising me and I never anticipated what was next. I loved all of it - Castle taking the end of the world seriously (complete with a bunker), the War of the Worlds, their truce, everything with Kate and Jim, the proposal, how many kids they'd have (And Espo and Lanie butting in), Alexis putting them in time out, the Ryan clan, the twister game, the ring, castle and beckett's talks with Alexis, the lists (!), etc. This story had me laughing a lot more than most of your other stories, which was great. I also enjoyed all the little inclusions throughout the story, like Lanie and Esposito needing to hash something out, or Kate not realizing there was a baby around. You added such great extra details that really painted a complex picture of everything going on in this story.

Now I just need to know what the lettuce story was from chapter five...

Of COURSE Castle would believe the world was going to end of December 21, 2012. How did the show miss this gem of an idea, anyway? Or maybe this is just some elaborate ruse to get Beckett to spend Christmas with him?
