I'm several years late with reading this, but god I love your fics.
So manyt hings to love here too: Klaus dying with Rebekah's name on his lips, Elijah's lie to her about what Klaus wants and how she never forgave him for it, how Damon loved so much it destroyed him and Katherine wasn't going to let it. I really liked the way you described Katherine as teaching Damon and that line about making him a man and cutting him loose by telling him it would always be Stefan.
The part about Katherine learning English was interesting to read and Elijah holding her hand like he was trying to keep her there during their first meeting.
I literally said "Oh, that's good" out loud when I saw you echoing Katherine's description of Klaus by saying she gambled and learned to keep her cards close to her chest. The way Klaus and Elijah shaped her and she shaped Damon fascinates me so much and it came across really well in the story.
Anyway, I don't know if you'll still even read this, but cool fic!

This is incredible. You captured so many facets of Katerina (and that was her real name and I will call her that) and showed the progression of her character marvelously. I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed reading this fic. It was very well-done.

Hello again - I just want to review and favorite this on here in addition to AO3 because oh my god, I honestly don't even know what to do with myself as it's been several months since I first read this but it will never stop being the greatest Katherine-centric fic in my eyes. Everything about your writing, from your gorgeous descriptions to the way you string words together to create meaning, though not in an over the top way, absolutely amazes me. I adored the Katherine/Damon and Katherine/Elijah all throughout this, especially because it didn't overshadow the Katerina Petrova-Katherine Pierce dynamic and all the depth you put into that character arc, which was also brilliant because Katherine is really difficult to write but you literally got every layer of her character down perfectly here. I cannot thank you enough for writing this, because it's beyond wonderful in every single way. Please don't ever stop writing! xx

This was extraordinary. There is no other way to put it. Katherine is by far my favourite character and you portrayed her as I always imagined her. The story you tell is so riveting. I definitely think the fact she "won her own wars" and couldn't "bear being on pedestal" was Katherine down to the t.
It is a magnificent story from a wonderful author. I really limed it.

the ending is just beautiful

The thing about Katherine is that you can never tell what she's really thinking - like how in the series she said she loved Stefan and yet in season 4 we get the impression she loves Elijah. You showed us exactly what Katherine was thinking, how her mind worked. I loved how you made her like a girl in the first part of the fic (in some ways a lot like Elena) and then showed the change in her in the second part. I loved the third part as well, with Elena - I thought that was well done. I love this fic - you wrote Katherine perfectly. I think the writers of TVD would be proud of your interpretation. Well done!
