Reviews for A Study in Copper: Snapshots of a Meeting
CocoaDance chapter 1 . 3/12/2012
I love this. I love this so much that I'm bothering to review. Unfortunately, I doubt I can do justice to how much I utterly adored this story right now.

I love Sherlock Holmes. And, when done well, Sherlock Holmes crossovers are, quite probably, the love of my life. I was a tad dubious at the start, since Hetalia and Sherlock Holmes could spell disaster if executed in a manner that was any less than brilliant. And thankfully, this was more than brilliant. You, madam, are an excellent authoress and I applaud you.

This story has well and truly made my night. I'm glad I read it and I may go look into your other works. Or go curl up with my collection of Sherlock Holmes books.

This is quite an amazing story. I read the other two of your stories as well and I have to admit that I found them interesting but not that good. But this one is really brilliant. The way you describe Arthur and his character is fascinating. I could go on reading it for hours. I also read a Study in Scarlet and you found an amazing way to combine Arthur/Englands usual character with that of Holmes. Alfred as well is a great person and very likeable. Those two make a perfect match.

What I liked as well were all those things you explained in the notes. I learned quite a bit from this and it made the story even better. Maybe I should read the other two parts one more time. I might like them better now. Anyway I would be very happy if someday you'd decide to write some more about them.

You...!

This haunted me for the whole day! It's already past 1 am here and I have an exam later but I can't help but want to write a review for this and read your other works! I'll be damned but this is just too brilliant to not leave a review on.

I think it's accurate to say that I've fallen in love with your work.

Another fantastic work from you! And a continuation of sorts to the Sherlock Holmes AU too. I'm really glad you decided to continue it - multi-chapter no less! I'm chuffed to bits, really.

As usual, the detail you include is impeccable. All the research into laws and anything in relation to the subject you are writing about is flawless and while I have little knowledge of the Victorian era - as much as I am a fan of it - much of it made sense once I read the easy little notes you included at the bottom. That isn't to say, the issues your piece addressed could not have been guessed at already if anyone had a little basic understanding of the Victorian society.

Once again, another applause to how seamlessly you eased characters into the places of Holmes and Watson. It is no easy feat. Reading this piece, you treat Alfred as a complete different character from Watson - certainly, there are hints of similarity as that is the purpose of substituting characters into another's place, but it is definitely easy to separate the two from one another. Similar, but not the same.

I am most definitely looking forward to the next update!
