Not saying that this isn't good or anything, BUT it goes very far from what I took out of the Kings Cross chapter in DH.

I mean does it not seem like Dumbledore knew the whole time that the only way to save Harry would be through the act of a self-sacrifice. That the story he told Snape was a fake too make sure Harry would think that it was the only way out. It might have been a last straw kind of idea, but I cannot see Dumbledore who has always been portrayed as wise and on the sight of light to have such a massive plot twist at the end. And him raising Harry for "slaughter" would be just that, a massive plot twist with no real sense behind since he then is this overly wise person again (and accepted by Harry) in the Kinds Cross chapter.
