I think this was one of the best stories I've read! Nice job! It ended already? ;'(

I admit I was a little skeptical at the way this was progressing, at first; I didn't really think that Merlin and Freya could, or should, have a different future. Merlin, afterall, must protect Arthur, and stay in Camelot, not run away with Freya. But it does read well, and here you prove me wrong by doing a combination of an alternate storyline, and a fairly true-to-character progression (also showing how Freya can take care of herself, something the show was set in the wrong circumstances to portray, not to mention time constraints). It's also an interesting way of using the old legends, even the idea of the lady of the lake being a trained position (though you may not mean it to be one that is passed on).

Skillfully done, I like that the unicorn played a part.

I quite liked how you described Freya's internal struggle. That was nicely done.

Brilliant! That was clever, substituting Freya for the Vilia, and I love that you emphasized Merlin's goodness through that one act of kindness and Freya's subsequent return because of it.

This was very beautiful in a very heart-wrenching way, and there was some very lovely imagery in here. :)
