I really love this fic. I love how you focus on friendship, and not romance. Like, don't get me wrong, I'm a romantic sap at heart, but friendship fics, and the loyalty in them... they're much harder to find, and I treasure them. And you write it so well.

Plus, I love your author notes. I love that you take the time to explain things, particularly from the TV show. I've seen the 3 Star Trek movies, and I liked them, but I've only been reading Trek fabrics for a month, and have been lightly thinking about watching the TV show, but you've inspired me to do it. Thank you.

I love your stories, but I have one issue with what you say in this chapter's author's note.
I am twenty years old, and I don't drink. It seems somehow, that you are assuming that everyone wants to and drinks alcoholic drinks. Shouln't Chekov then have some freedom to decide if he is a drinker or not, regardless of his age?

I am loving this story: the pacing and the characters are great. I am reading it in lieu of work I should really be doing :P
I also wanted to comment about the movie Clue. Yes, it is a good movie, yet not enough people have watched it.

I've read both this and In Need and In Deed in the last few days, and I've really enjoyed them, particularly INAD. (I'm a sucker for Tarsus and Spirk friendship.) This one was also delightful, however. I liked the focus on the contrast between the two worlds a lot. The only thing I wish could have been explored was the relationship between recognized the T'hy'la pair during the destruction of Vulcan or Earth; how the loss of one of their two home planets would affect the dynamics of their friendship and the decisions they made in command and what happened after.

I'd love to see a one-shot of maybe Winona accidentily spying on James and an Amanda in full mom mode. With an additional scene or a separate one-shot of Sarek doing or saying something that cements, in both Sarek's mind and Jim's, that he care's for Jim as a son.
