Holy hell! This story! Wowwwww! I don’t even know where to start after reading it lmao. Sam is a selfish asshole, the stuff Mercedes put up with?! He practically raped and cheated and it’s her fault? My sis omg! I found myself crying several times during this and I love their kids but I worry so much for them being so aware of their parents relationship. My parents never divorced so I was raised in a mentally abusive household with how they talked to each other. I am so... wow. Mercedes deserves so much better and hell nah I ain’t on Sam side! He cheated on her with her friend! Then the secretary and for 13 years?! I just want him to back the hell off and let Mercedes learn to love herself.

I hope you find the inspiration to continue this incredible story. I would love to find out if they find their way back to love or live life out as the friends they are becoming.

This was so well written. So realistic and beautifulrepresentative of real life. I hope they find their way back together romantically of course, but their friendship has grown so much it’s almost more than what their marriage was. I really hope you continue to find inspiration for thisthe story has helped me find closure from my own troubles x

I'm on the edge of my seat...this is my parents life (in a nut shell). It has been very therapeutic, to say the least...in the throes of tears and anger, sadness and hope. I have been living your fanfic and anxiously await a happy ending. My parents were children when they met. My father was 5 years older than my mother, but at the age of 12, already working full time, driving and dating older women. Oddly, he was already considered a man at that age, back in the 30s in Prattville, Alabama. Rumor has it he impregnated a woman of 35 when he was 17... Still, he was always smitten with my mother, who, unlike all the other women falling for him, she ignored his charm, though secretly all ready in love with him. My father (like Sam) won my mothers full attention and heart and he was her first everything. They married when she was 16 and he was 21, she had her first baby (of 8 pregnancies) 8 1/2 months later. Fast forward, six kids (2 still borns, and me...) I'm the bastard child of my mothers when my father brought home a "daughter" 20 days older than my big brother. Infidelity was common, as was gambling and drinking...luckily, no REAL violence. But somewhere in the midst of all of this "unforgivable" crap...my parents became closer. They'd fallen in love, out of love and in love again...They never divorced in all of this, but separated from time to time. Finally, they figured it out with the help of God, they forgave each other and themselves (key factor). I never seen my parents more in love...it was weird and we kids couldn't understand it at first. But as an adult, now I understand. We are far from perfect, but by the grace of God, we can be forgiving, kind, loving and strong. My Parents were together for 60 years by the time cancer took my father. My mother recently told me how blessed she was to have so much passion in her life and that she was excited about the day she would be with my dad again...because the love they "have", man could challenge, but never put asunder. I hope Sam and Mercedes has that kind of love as well and can truly fall in LOVE again...an infinite love!

I read this months ago and it has been on my mind through all the Samcedes FF becuz of the realism. There really are broken relationships like this and horribly selfish people like Tins, like Sam.
You did an excellent job portraying that side in some ships. Everything is not always rosy. I don't know why Tina felt so entitled to Mercedes life. She's cray crazy. Sam is just a selfish little boy. Im not sure if hes really sorry. I mean how many Cheetahs actually change their spots. And to be so engrossed in your feelings that you take a blind eye to your partner you would have to be like the inth level of narcissistic. Every level being wrong. Mercedes has my sympathy becuz well She never REALLy had a strong sense of self. I believe your mom and pop instill those character traits and when they don't we have broken individuals. I believe she would have been easy prey for a narcissist. If she can truly heal , perhaps she will see that she is worth so much more than this Sam. Maybe she will meet another Samson or Samuel or. Samein that is truly worthy of her loyalty and devotion. Then maybe just maybe after all of her pain has healed she will love unabandoned. But this Sam he should have ended up with Tina and no loyal Mercy., distant children which led to a lapse in creativity for which he suffered great financial loss. While all the while watching a new Samcedes ship and his children slip away, his family leave him.

Shake the table and update this amazing fic

Sooo I needed a Samcedes fix and decided to read a couple fics. Thank goodness I found this one. It's definely different from most fics out there and I love that. This story is so good and compelling it really draws you in and fucks with your emotions. You find yourself reacting so strongly as if you are a friend of Mercedes well at least I did. I ship Samcedes but I don't stan them as individuals so it makes me for a more unbiased reader in my humble opinion. Here is my (lengthy) response:

Imagine reading this fic and still wanting Sam and Mercedes to be together. Sam does not deserve Mercedes. Sam was cheating early on in their marriage in the name of feeling "trapped". He told his son he was going to break up with her before he found they were having a baby he's been resentful towards her before she started to become withdrawn. And speaking on Mercedes becoming withdrawn Sam is to blame for that as well. He isn't to blame for the miscarriages but I'm pretty sure knowing your husband is a cheating bastard is pretty stressful. She couldn't even talk to him after she lost the first one and she did try she tried more than once. I do believe Sam should have known but it was like if he wasn't fucking her he didn't care about her. And saudomizing your wife cuz you're mad is garbage by the way. That shit was truely triggering it was low key rapey that he would just penitrare her with no warning like that. And to add insult to injury he was having an affair with her fucking business partner! Someone she worked closely with, knew her kids! That's so calculating and petty. Why her? Someone who she trusted and he didn't even blow Tina off until she showed up at his door and blew up his spot in front of his family. This is who people want Mercedes to end up with? In the beginning of this fic I felt as though Sam didn't even really want Mercedes back for any other reason than she was what he was used to and I don't know if that opinion has changed that much. It's not like he's really shown her much progress since she divorced him. He should start with continuing to work on his relationship with his children his sons have always been Team Mom through all of this and now it seems like their daughter has given up on his ass too.

Wow! I had to re-read all the chapters over and I notice so much I missed the first time. Let me just applaud you on the creativity. Everything seems so real. I have been bawling my eyes out. Thank you so much for the update bc I have really missed this story. I'm kind if happy Anthony is gone. but I love Sam suffering to see Cedes happy. The kids are so freaking hilarious. Can't wait for more.

I really don't want them back together

love the fact that the story is different in comparison to other Samcedes stories. But I HATE Sam in this story, and I will be MADDER THAN CAN BE if Mercedes takes him back, because, in my opinion, after everything that he has done to Mercedes, there will NEVER be anything that he can do to make up for what any of it. Abusing her emotionally and physically, cheating on her, etc. He is awful.
