AlysanneLake chapter 7 . 8/4/2012
Another gem. Hard to watch Dani nearly self-destruct, and parts left me with a bad taste in my mouth, butkthink that was the aim. Love your Crews. You've got these two down, make them real.
between the waves chapter 7 . 7/25/2012
well done! i truly enjoyed reading this.
jjgeraghty chapter 7 . 7/17/2012
This had a very odd and confusing ending!
silversurf4 chapter 7 . 6/8/2012
Such a lovely denouement...loved the sprint versus marathon metaphor and the piece about quitting being after you realize your last has already come and gone - very Zen. Dani's way of asking Charlie to help her "figure him in" was also classic. Sweet but not too much..just enough.

I also appreciate that Charlie could find himself by finding her - though the show never got there I think saving and protecting Ted was something important for Crews, a demonstration that to be a cop, a protector, a defender - one doesn't have to wear a badge, one only need do what is right.
Ghostrider chapter 7 . 6/4/2012
A very nice ending. They're still them. Still immovable object versus unstoppable force. Always better together.

I hope you'll be writing more of this pairing, maybe even a sequel to this story.
Lizicia chapter 7 . 6/2/2012
I love the conclusion to this story. How she stands against her temptations and addictions while trying to refuse the good kind of addiction. How at the bar Amy Winehouse is grating at her nerves and it doesn't become a song fic while it's still there, humming in the environment. How someone breaking into her motel room forces her hand somewhat but also makes her realize she does want to be with Crews. And, how in the end, she still doesn't know what to do or how to do it but is willing to accept his love. "'Charlie, I'm asking you to help me figure you in,' she explained." Brilliant, just enough and not too much. Loved this story, sad to see it end.
Lizicia chapter 6 . 4/19/2012
I love the difference you have in Crews' reasoning in the previous chapter: he wants her, not sex with her. But she is trying to convince herself she just wants the sex and nothing else and it infuriates her to no end that she's failing at that. And Crews is patient and willing to take whatever she has to give but his patience is not endless; he is no saint and he leaves because he has to.

I also felt the part about Dani wanting to be clean for her sake, no one else's rang extremely true but with the way she needs the drugs in the end, it shows how her choices are tied to either being a junkie or being with Crews. So much intensity, anger and unwillingness to give in, just fantastic.
lovepride chapter 6 . 4/19/2012
warn me of the next chapiter
Ghostrider chapter 6 . 4/18/2012
Painful to read the struggle she's in. I'm glad to see more of this story.
silversurf4 chapter 5 . 3/25/2012
Such rich delicious darkness, like dark chocolate - silky smooth, melts in your mouth and leaves you wanting more. Dani is so terribly flawed and she knows it; she almost revels in it. Charlie is so tragically broken and yet he still tries to care. What a lovely question - if you don't want love, what do you want? Can't wait for more - let's hope its not so long between updates. I devour these like a little junkie...
GhostWriterLost chapter 5 . 3/24/2012
Great to see another instalment of this story. I really think you've caught Dani's oh-so-dark/destructive side well.

This paragraph is a perfect summary of 'them':

Would it be okay if they made love on the edge of a knife? Dani thought it might be. She wanted it to be. She wanted him. It was dangerous. It was safe.

Or at least a perfect summary of they way i think they would have fit together.
GhostWriterLost chapter 4 . 1/30/2012
Somehow it just seems wrong to be enjoying something so dark about two such damaged people. So wrong i shall have to be, as i am enjoying this story thoroughly. She *has* to be the darkest, most destructive female character that was ever portrayed on Network TV and you've captured every shadow, every unlit crevasse of her persona. Well done.

Maybe Crews' strange Zen tape is right - one plus one equals one, but only because each of the ones is only partially whole.

I look forward to the next chapter as there's gotta be fallout from their connection, just not the fallout she thinks she wants.
silversurf4 chapter 4 . 1/26/2012
I have to echo what another reviewer said...most of the time Dani's screwed up and Charlie rescues her - even in stories I write, but not this one. It's a breath of fresh of air and a different view point entirely. I love that when Dani comes to (after passing our or fairing) she starts to identify herself as "Charlie" - he's in her head. She takes him with her wherever she goes.

Dani's interaction with Fernando is telling in that Charlie doesn't rescue her - she rescues herself. But she also does so by recognizing who she is - a cop - in her mind and in her heart. She knows what he (Fernando) wants, what Parker wants and what Charlie wants - her. My question is what does Dani want? Does she even know?

The thing with running out of clean clothes and having nothing left to wear but her strapless red prom dress is hilarious. It's like a scarlet letter. Crews sleeping in a tiny corner of his suite shows how broken he remains and yet... They are each other's answer. Can you be broken and still fit somewhere? with someone? Answer yes. Everything has hits beauty and value, but not everyone sees it. Each of us is looking for their "one"
zebraboymom chapter 4 . 1/25/2012
Wow! Amazing chapter. Can't wait to read is dark, but so were their characters. I am looking forward to how you finally connect them the way they should be. They truly do complete each other.
Lizicia chapter 4 . 1/25/2012
I've been reading 'Life' fanfiction for quite some time now and mostly in the fics, Crews is a saviour, the one in control who always keeps Dani in line and pulls her out of her darkness. But this story is phenomenal with the way you give a more human Crews, the one who doesn't have all the answers, who doesn't try and save her but does so all the same. Dani's the one in control, seemingly, but her control is erratic and self-destructive and oh, so dark. And in the end of this chapter, Crews just takes what is his and she gives it freely, not realizing what it means. So, while I love to read stories of Crews in charge and Reese wild but succumbing to him, this story is like a breath of fresh air.
