This was a great little story - Tony and Ziva were both perfectly in character for Season 3, and Tony's disbelief at Ziva turning 23 was hilarious (when he was cracking jokes) and poignant ("know fewer ways to kill someone"). Thanks for writing this.

I figured he WOULD be that indignant, except it kinda grosses me out that he thinks sleeping with women who are twenty at BEST is hot, hahaha. I'm glad he gave Ziva those presents! Very Tony, with the jokes, and then suddenly there's just what (in my mind's eye) must be a very beautiful and expensive present. And I am Chinese, so pretending that Ziva got a jade bracelet from Tony makes me ridiculously happy :P

This was a lovely piece. I think we were all pretty "flabber-gisted" when Ziva's age was revealed for the first time. Not sure if the writers thought too hard when they were putting her profile together, but it is canon now, so I guess we've gotta roll with it.

nice story. i always knew ziva was younger than tony, but i haven't really thought of the age issue until this fic.

Tiva lovah, i think the fic was right. Ziva was born 1982 (it was printed on her passport in "Broken Arrow"). The actress who portrays Ziva, Cote de Pablo, was the one born in 1979. They were both born Nov 12th though.

Looooved this! Yes, Ziva's age is totally ridiculous on the show but you've taken that and gave wonderful insight into that here. Perfect S3 Ziva voice (loved her struggling with language so obviously, which feels very S3 but would feel too cliche for a current fic). Tony's outrage over her age makes perfect sense- Ziva harps on it all having to do with his attraction to her, but you brought in this wonderful sense of it being more than that. Though he doesn't really outwardly say it, there's a sense of sadness and injustice he feels for Ziva having to had grown up so quickly and missed out on all that carefree fun of youth. Wonderful job! I hope you write more NCIS!
