This is great! Both of them are totally in character, and you've definitely got the tone of the show. This is pretty much how I pictured their relationship developing, with them being friends above all else and bantering with each other very genteelly.

Just finished to read the last 3 chapters. This is so perfect! I really love how finally Charles and Elsie realize they're feeling exactly the same, after all this time. It was so cute to see them so happy and in love.

But what I really adore is the epilogue, which is probably one of the cutest things I've ever read. I like the take on retirement, how they're both accepting it, still staying close to the family and with several ties with them. And mostly, I adore Elsie's interaction with Robbie, who really seems like a bright and sweet little boy. This was a perfect ending.

But if you ever feel like writing a sequel about their retirement days and their babysitting adventures, I'd be very happy to read it.
