There's something very astute about the paragraphs and their simple length; each sentence is no longer than it has to be and the careful choice of words in each leaves a bold imprint of the mind. It leaves behind a sort of rhythm, one that's short, chopped, analytical and feels very much like Law's dry thoughts speaking.

I do find it interesting how coolly Law apprises himself in comparison to Luffy and how even as he acknowledges Luffy's sheer, overwhelming charisma and power, he finds it lacking next to his strengths, 'his tempered steel to the Strawhat's brittle gold.'

But it all comes to a bold assertion in that final line. 'I'm more than a match for you...Live and I'll show you.'

I guess time will tell if the manga will live up to such a prediction.

This was a beautifully done introspection into Law's psyche and way of thinking. It's so short but so profound; I was breathless by the third sentence.

For some authors it takes an entire story for them to grasp a character, to truly get into a character's head and understand their personality, but you did that here with Law in only a few hundred words.

I found this a lot funnier than it was supposed to be, mostly because I keep thinking of Law's face when he teams up with the strawhats at Punk Hazard, and begins to realize that he's getting something a bit different than what he expected. I suppose maybe it's because he's only seen Luffy in serious mode, not his everyday idiot one. Anyway, good fic!

WHY ARE YOU SO INSIGHTFUL, YOU DELIGHTFUL, TALENTED PERSON?

"It is no wonder he has attracted such a fascinating crew; or that they love him with the devout ferocity of disciple, champion and parent combined." Such a true statement. Lol, Luffy's crew is such an odd mix of characters, but nobody can deny the one thing they have in common - their love for their captain and each other.

"Greatness will not be measured by how brightly the flame burns; only how long it lasts." A very interesting take on the differences between how these two characters live their lives!

Are you keeping up to date with the current arc in the manga? I'm very interested to see how the dynamics between Luffy and Law will play out during the rest of this arc, and beyond. Law seems like such a mysterious, but interesting character- I really can't wait to see how much Oda will reveal about him and his backstory!

I am at a loss for words.
