I love your story! Great job! My favorite friendship fic so far!

I like the maturity with which you have them handle the entire situation (heh). Familial disagreements are some of the most difficult troubles in life, even for the strong and independent individuals. It is very tempting to see Toph contradict her parents and prove them wrong — but it wouldn't solve anything in the long run. And as much as it rubs her the wrong way to be humble and try to depart the message respectfully to them, like Zuko said, someone has to go first. Love isn't always equal in the give and take department. More often than not sacrifices need to be made in a lasting relationship — unless, of course, it enters the territory of abuse. But it is lucky for her to have friends that support her at your side and could be there for her in case things don't work out.
Might be missing the point here, but the Toko in the story is adorable too. Nothing over-the-top and beautiful in its simplicity ;)
