This is a wonderful story! And so well written! Should be a real episode!

I'm soooo happy to have found a nice and lengthy Carlowe story! Seriously. I found it through someone else. You should add Marlowe as a character so more people can find your AMAZING story!

First off let me say that I am loving this story. Strike that, not loving - ADORING this story. I'll have more to say on that when I'm done reading it.

Why I'm interrupting myself is because Lassiter is apparently a big Dave Barry fan. His take on the island of Bimini is almost verbatim what the humor columnist wrote about his own vacation there, which I think is collected in either DAVE BARRY TALKS BACK or DAVE BARRY IS NOT MAKING THIS UP. I don't think you're deliberately plagarizing, please don't think that's what I'm saying - your story is wonderful and original and I love all the references scattered through it. There are plenty of instances in my own writing when I've gone back later and realized that I've inadvertantly borrowed chunks of favorite works. Maybe Lassie could just say, "Well actually Dave Barry is the one who said that, but I agree with him," or something less stupid and spur-of-the-moment un-thought about than that?

Absolutely marvelous! Carlton deserved this story!

I absolutely love this story. It's excellent and suspenseful and mysterious and has a sexy Lassiter (which in my book gives you 100 stars :))... I read it in one day and it kept me on the edge of my seat. It cornered my mind in a dark alley and kept it occupied with wonder about what was going to happen next when I had to get up and do errands/stuff lol I love it. :)

You do a grand Lassiter. LOVED the Whitestone-praising him scene. Brought tears to me eyes. And I sure hope Marlowe on screen turns out to be like the Marlowe you've created here, because I like her a LOT.

YES to the resolution of the case, for Carlton kickin' ass just by doing his job, and even for Shawn sticking up for him in the crowd.

After you finish this one, I'd like to encourage you to write another Lassiet. Of course I'm selfish and greedy; what's your point?

Oh, that eulogy! That was one kick-ass eulogy. I'm still laughing.

What an interesting, meandering ride-the case, the 'breakdown,' the funeral-the support from Juliet and even Shawn; all of it. I'm hooked!

Great Chapter! Shawn telling off Stanish was a great scene. I love the tiny reference in making made "McTiernan" Carlton's middle name XD

Of course it's not going to be easy - but it sure is an interesting ride. You are a funny, funny chickie and very good at writing Lassiter. But don't hurt him... he's our guy!

I fergot in my comment to Ch. 7 to say NO NO NO don't make things ugly for Lassiter! He has enough pain just with life and Spencer and himself! Be kind! (Rewind!)

Anyway - much drunken fun here. I love Lassiter through your eyes. You and Lawson have given me much fodder (with a side of aahhhh) for thought of late.

Yes, indeedy, you do these people well. I like your Marlowe very much (and Lassie in love) and have a funny feeling she's going to turn out to be exactly that likable in her future ep(s) - although like Lawson, I'm a Lassiet girl at heart!

I also like it when Shawn gets his comeuppance, so bring it, baby.

Obviously, you know I'm a die-hard Juliet/Carlton person- however, I can't deny that Marlowe was unexpectedly sweet and she had awesome chemistry with our favorite cranky detective. This second chapter, in particular, was just really, really lovely, especially since you acknowledged the flaws in the Juliet/Shawn relationship and that maybe possibly, she might be a little jealous of the grown-up relationship her partner's embarking on.

I think, too, Marlowe's observations of Carlton are just spot on, as are Carlton's assessments of how he seems himself. (Although I do like the sideburns, so we can just agree to disagree, there. *g*)

Also, I giggled at the thought of Juliet eyeing her Glock with some longing as Shawn's passed out on her sofa.

Verra good! You write Marlowe in a very appealing way, and I do share your appreciation for Mr. Lassiter.

That "hope's a bastard" line, hmmm, where have I seen that before, hmmm... ;-) (It is, though.)

Seriously good stuff. I do kinda wish the bow had hit Shawn.
