Guest chapter 3 . 10/1/2016 ah this was so fun to read i really like how you write the characters a plus |
AwesomeOwl chapter 1 . 5/27/2015 Hi :D I love your story, it's really awesome :D Yeah, this review isn't anywhere near as long as the others posted on this story (sorry), but there isn't really much to comment on, except that I really enjoyed it! I just felt like reviewing :D -AwesomeOwl |
damtoti chapter 3 . 1/17/2014 How silly of me. I didn't even realize this had multiple chapters until I found this same fic on the kink meme. This gets even better as it goes on, and I'm desperate for a sequel too at this point. I love the characterizations as always. America's childish battle with Russia was a really cute moment, lol. "Wait, no! I take that back! Germany you can never talk to Prussia alone again." But this was filled with such an intensity of relief, happiness, and then hurt I was addicted. I love historical fics, and I love how the minor characters were also given so much life. France trying to make amends, but not unrealistically remorseful over what he did. America and his obsessive hatred towards Russia. Every character interaction is really beautiful to read. Another part that stood out to me was the douchey friendship between Prussia and France in the last chapter. "Don't think I'll just accept some lame apology..." "I wasn't planning to apologize" and "People change a little when their friends sentence them to death, you know" "Oh, will you stop acting like such a martyr." I honestly love these types of fics - historical, angst - more than the romances, and if you ever happened to write more of them I'd be the happiest person. |
Spockulent chapter 3 . 1/16/2014 Oh my god prussia you poor baby and Russia you manipulative little shit 3 My heart broke so many times for prussia in the last chapter aah. I'll definitely watch out for a sequel! |
damtoti chapter 1 . 1/7/2014 I think this is the first darkish fic I've read from you, and I've actually been curious to see how you would portray Russia for a while - such as whether you would create him as the overdone evil maniac or make him more vulnerable and human. I guess this leans towards the second, though I love that darker twist with him manipulating everyone and showing mercy mostly for his own gain. The dialogue between him and Prussia felt very in-character. It had the characteristic innocence of Russia while still displaying an edge of danger, and also not overdoing that danger to the point that he was beating the shit out of everyone for no reason. Prussia reacted the way I usually imagine him to behave around Russia; fighting back mostly through words and restraining most of his loathing. Not quite overreacting to Russia with fear or anger, but obviously wary around him. Russia's inner monologues about his dream were believable for his character, but maybe a bit too open and well-thought-out to take seriously. I imagine it more as something he subconsciously drives towards rather than a clear-cut plan to follow. His manipulative nature just seems all the more terrifying when he doesn't explicitly plan for it. The scene where he traumatized everyone with descriptions of "killing" Prussia was beautiful though. It was so twisted and yet merciful at the same time. And on another note, I really like the PruRus (is that what it's called?) pairing. But only for the dark, angsty fics that make my skin crawl. I'm probably a sadist for enjoying a broken!Prussia who still fights back until the end. Gilbert being unable to tell his brother he was alive in this story nearly broke my heart. Though that one line in the end - "Maybe the Nordics needed a sixth member" - just made me laugh out of nowhere. Not sure if that was intentional or not, lol. |
mia kiruna chapter 3 . 10/8/2013 Oh, that was a very good fanfic, even though i disagree with a thing or two(mainly US, UK and France' opinions on divided germany- they parted germany into two because otherwise germany would be too powerful too soon, they kind of never wanted that).I think you did a very good job, if you're planning to continue this, then do!You already established east-west conflict, even though they love each other, they both believe their opinions are the right ones. |
Lunicole chapter 3 . 5/3/2013 Best. Fucking. Fic. I absolutely adore how Russia isn't portrayed as a sadistic rapist-killer in this, because he's more or less always portrayed as a total monster in Cold War-set stories, and it's refreshing to see, especially the total lack of torture and icky things (borscht excluded) happening to Prussia. And that last talk between the two brothers ! Kudos on historical accuracy, with those nice little details (I really wanna see Germany interacting with Adenauer and Willy Brandt later on, now ! Also, Prussia and Honecker, oh my god.), and the writing as a whole. Thank you for sharing ! |
Ben the Brave chapter 3 . 9/19/2012 Oh man, this is in-CRED-ible! Why doesn't it have 500 reviews?! It's fantastic! I mean, obviously it's a bit of a downer of an ending, but it's definitely preferable to having some half-assed happy ending just to please people. The ending was written brilliantly, and the way that you've portrayed the mirror images of the nations makes me speechless. It's stunning, how Prussia is furious at how the Allies have shaped Germany with their propaganda and capitalism, and yet at the same time, Germany is devastated at Russia's successful manipulation of Prussia to raise a communist state. The parallels are perfectly done. Just, wow. The best Post-WWII fic I've seen. You've got a serious talent for writing the brothers. Wow. |
Braly chapter 3 . 7/15/2012 Wow. Just wow. This story is so amazing, I'm at a loss for words. You can really see how both Germany and Prussia have changed, so slowly that they don't notice it themselves, and then that eventual contact- very well written. I also like how you write Russia- in his mind, he's the good guy. He honestly believes he's doing what's best for not just Prussia, but for the world. I like how he looks at his domination as friendship too. Everyone was very much in character, even the minor characters, especially America, I found, stuck out. I almost don't want to call them minor, because they seemed so important, yet played smaller roles. It's your writing style that makes it work, for sure. Anyway, I look foreword to reading the sequel! |
yllom21 chapter 3 . 7/12/2012 This is amazing! I love how you wrote Prussia, I believe he is very well in character. And I also love how you wrote Russia. |
TheIrishHobbit chapter 3 . 6/21/2012 ... I... LOVE THIS STORY! Seriously I love it! The ending was so surprising I was expecting a happy ending. But honestly I think this is much better than a happy ending. I do feel bad for Prussia as he was betrayed. Also France is an asshole in this seriously how could he do this to Prussia. Asshole. Also is the sequel out? I'd love to read it! |
sweetness4theheart chapter 3 . 2/8/2012 Aw, I wanted this to keep going. But thank you for doing a Ru/Pru where Russia isn't overly insane. Noone ever really does their relationship right (in my opinion) so it annoys the hell out of me. I'm glad with this, and I'll just go off into kinky-imagination land. But Russia being all manipulative to Prussia turns me on and I actually agree with Prussia about him being pissed off. I mean, I get why Germany says no, but hey, Prussia is always getting the short end of the stick. Anyway, hope there's a sequel~ |
Dot-co.Uke chapter 2 . 11/17/2011 Darling, I believe that you have mixed up Weimar Germany (Post world war one) with post world war two germany. The republic was found after ww1 and same with the invasion of the Ruhr. Also, you said Saar.. did you mean Tsar by any chance? |
Arya May chapter 3 . 11/13/2011 Russia, you amazing sadist...wow. To have planned this from the beginning...wow. Whatever. I think personally, Russia actually does have some geniune feelings for Prussia, but the other 90% is pure manipulation. Ahh. Whatevs. I loved reading that. Good job! |
ChibiStarr chapter 3 . 10/26/2011 EEeeeee I saw this on LJ and had to comment here. This story made me so sad, how dare you. ;-; *hugs* Gods this is so awesome! Keep writing please. |
