I would not want to be Timothy in this case. If Abby marries Tim only because she cant have the man she really loves, then that marriage will not last.

Good story but I can't say that I am convinced by your version of how McGee would handle being dumped by Abby. You make him sound like a complete wuss. He obviously felt strongly enough about her to have bought an engagement ring, so even if he suspected she had feelings for Gibbs, the reality of her starting an affair with him would surely have devastated him. I'm not convinced that he and Abby would remain friends and it's likely that his respect for Gibbs would take a nosedive - particularly as he had broken his own Rule 12, the same one he was bellowing at McGee about. I know this is fanfiction, but how many guys would remain on friendly terms with a girlfriend who dumped them for their boss?

And I have no sympathy for Abby. She should have been more honest with Tim about her feelings towards Gibbs. Certainly well before he ever thought about proposing.

This story was good! You kept them mostly in character...Abby was perfect, and so was Gibbs, particularly the acting over talking bit. However, McGee took it way too well. This is someone he's ready to marry, and she dumps him for their boss. He'd be jealous of Gibbs, angry with Abby for stringing him along...McGee just doesn't hide or suppress his feelings that well. You set out to write a GAbby story, and it seems like once you got there, the ending slid around a bit, and you can't let that happen. What people remember is the beginning and the end, so you need a really epic end. Show us a blow-up, and then everyone gradually accepting it, and maybe McGee shaking Gibbs' hand and just saying something like "Make her happy, because if you don't..." and leaving the rest unsaid, because we all know McGee can't take Gibbs, but if he hurt Abby, he'd sure try and so would everyone else. So, overall, great story, good characterization, and a great idea! I really like what you've got going here!

Yea! A Gabby! I totally love McGee but I love Gabby even more! I feel sorry for Abby. She feels everything so deeply that this would rip her heart out. Can't wait to find out what happens next! ;)
