It was good to read a Tarsus tale that did not include what became for me a cliche, Kirk captured and tortured again by Kodos are kin.
I appreciated he was able to deepen his trust and connections with the crew. It was also good to see Tom alive and prospering. I enjoyed this au a lot.

No his instincts as a best friend, are what is keeping him from hugging him. and his instincts as a compassionite person is to hug him.

Good story, though I think I prefer the Tarsus events from Another Little White Lie better. Also not really a fan of the Kirk/McCoy slash paring.
