Creepy. Haunting. Scary. Sad. And very well written.

This was just fantasic - loved it all - the only tiny suggestion I have is that Peeta was hung for murder - now him being a gentle soul - not easily angered - I would like to know if he took the blame for Katniss, if the crowd was in error or what could have caused him to murder anyone - each would work and yet add a flavor to the tale that can exist without the backstory - but would be deeper with this slipped in there in some fashion.

Each possible answer would add a different spin and each could most certianly add to your tone and motive.

Just a thought - the story is very well done and I liked that our first sure glimpse it is Peeta and not Gale - comes from the 'his blue eyes are open' line. That was just perfect!

I'm writing something on this song as well. Very good story, it's predictable but still an enjoyable read. All in all, three thumbs up ;)

First off I'd like to say I'm very impressed you wrote this on your iphone! Kuddos!

I think you did a fantastic job with your story. It's a very interesting twist to their relationship. The pairing with the The Hanging Tree song is beautiful representation of thier relationship.

At first its kind of hard to absorb Peeta as the murderer. However in truth both Peeta and Katniss have took lives. It's the underlying meaning of the melody that rings true. In the books we only have Katniss's side of the story, but it's always the same intense reaction towards Peeta. Like right after the first games when the doctors were saving him, and she was wild with fear banging on the windows. Also, after the Quell rescue when she was going to kill Peeta with a syringe, so he wouldn't have to suffer. Or how

she completely broke down when she realized Snow was trying to break her, by torturing Peeta. Also how she thought she'd lost Peeta forever after the hijacking, she

never intended to live after she killed Snow.

So back to the Hanging Tree song, it is a very true metaphor of thier relationship. Because they do have an intense love for one another. A love that still found it's way

through hostility, war, hijacking and even death. There is no doubt that they would meet each other under the stars.

You did an amazing job. You really captured the emotions and intensity of Peeta and Katniss! I really loved it!

Well written. If you'd like, there's a link on Youtube for someone's interpretation of this lullaby. It's fanmade, if you would like to take a look at it.

I loved how you incorporated the verses one at a time. A wonderful idea.

Where did you get the idea to use the two characters as Peeta and Katniss? Personally, I would've chosen Gale and Katniss. That would've come to mind at first, but I like it. You can picture it happening.

Here's the link. There are several versions, personally, my favourite is the sole piano version. This one here is the orchestral with vocals version.

Enjoy! And I love your writing!

From one aspiring author to another.
