This is so chilling and brilliant, and beautiful in a way, when Dean gets a tiny bit of time with real Sam. Bless Dean. I couldn't work out what was so creepy about the end and then I read one of the reviews that compared it to an abusive relationship, which is so true.
It also reminded me really strongly of something else, which I thought about for ages and finally remembered - (obscure reference alert) I wonder if you've ever seen the play version of Frankenstein? The last paragraph reminded me so much of the end of that, the way Dean is just carrying on because he doesn't know what else to do, because he's too tired to think of another solution, even though he hates it. Maybe google it or message if you haven't seen it and you want to know as I don't want to spoil it for you if you don't :) Anyway really brilliant writing! Thank you!

Oh I don't know why Dean doesn't go running howling off a cliff somewhere. That man is made of steel.

that's a new light you shed on Sam's aftermath. I like the darker undertone you manage. It deepens the impact of Dean being there no matter what.

I'm always delighted to see Supernatural stories from you, even the dark ones.

This story is not entirely dark to me. It has hope that the 3 personalities may gain some more cohesion after a while. Animal Sam(the soul-less guy) does have some good things for whole Sam.

If Sam is ever to live again he must get the sheer animal's distance from the terrible hell memories. He might always do better if he would take some of the animal's indulgence of women. Sam's a goodlooking guy should play with the nicer of his admirers just for the life of it sometimes. His romantic memories shouldn't all be dead girls and demons.

How very, very horrible for the poor boys.
