I LOVE this fic! It is so gentle and thought-provoking. Sometimes, it is had for me to imagine Estel and Legolas because Legolas usually tends to be portrayed as the less dominant once Aragorn becomes and adult. This is such a nice ode to a wonderful pairing, and so emotional. LOVE IT!

My idea is an Aragorn/Legolas plot with a bittersweet end. When Arwen gives up her immortality to be with Aragorn, I want it to be taken literally. She literally GIVES him her immortality, get it? It isn't canon but then, what in fanfiction is?

So our beloved Ranger becomes immortal instead, but he doesn't know it yet. And meanwhile Aragorn falls in love with Legolas, who so happens to love him back too. There should be a subsequent series of angst and heartbreak and joyous recovery-but in the end, Aragorn realized (or is told that) Arwen gave him her immortality because she saw from the Council of Elrond and other scenes that Aragorn loved Legolas with a love greater than any he ever held for her and she decided to give them happiness through her sacrifice, because she knew Legolas couldn't give up his immortality to join with Aragorn after death and she didn't want her brother in all but blood to grieve the passing of his lover and fade in sadness.

As an immortal king with a consort approved by the would-have-been Queen, this solves the problem of heir-begetting and Arwen's presence and the only barrier is their gender, which shouldn't be much of a problem. Aragorn and Legolas love each other deeply and a barrier like homosexuality phobia isn't going to stop them.

Yes. That's about it. Do you think you can do it? If you can, then THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I'm not skilled at writing myself, but this plot seemed too good to let go, and I needed a good author to do it. I hope you are the one. Happy writing!
