I do agree, pride is an essential in both Slytherin and Griffindor.
And I like the idea of Snape and McGonagall having a friendship dispite their differences and bickering :D

I loved how you showed the motherly or sisterly side if Minerva but you still made her the stern eagle eyed gryffindor we all know by heart. it makes her very real. she's has so many responsibilities it's readers can relate easily to the fatigue that we know she's hiding and it makes such perfect sense that severus would be the one to see it. both because he's not a fool and because he does care.

and severus, oh severus! I love him. I always thought there was a side to him that we didnt get to see in the book. and your description of him fits perfectly with nothing out of place. I especially loved that bit about how he sends both dumbledore and minerva in the opposite directions because it is exactly what sly cunning and caring salazar would do i think ). He seems so human so normal. it's so easy to emphasize it's why I love your writings of the characters so much!

I liked this. I love Minerva... and I guess Severus is okay too. I can totally imagine Severus and Minerva getting along fairly well in their teaching days. Secretly, of course.

I was slightly confused with each paragraph kind of being a new POV, so my only suggestion would be to maybe break it up?

Anyway, I knwo this is your first HP fic, and I've read your other ones, so I'm not going to complain too much (not that I have any reason to).
