wiwi chapter 73 . 6/13/2018 I'm starting to ship shinraXIzaya XDDD I really enjoy their moments, although kadotaXIzaya is also cute :)) |
victory over death chapter 1 . 6/10/2018 I came back after all this time to see if this fic was still here. and it is and I still like it. I'm in a really emotional mood after watching the little prince so it makes me really sad that you stopped updating after chapter 73. 73 chapters is really impressive and I'm grateful!, but people don't write these sorts of unique fics anymore and I miss this kind of thing so much. |
MarieFanfiction42 chapter 73 . 11/13/2016 Very good story :) Although it is quite fine at the lenght it is, I couldn't help but want more. Congratulations :) |
TheMadCatQueen chapter 73 . 8/7/2016 I have to admit, I have Asperger's myself, and I find your perspective on it incredibly interesting. Shall we put it as Izaya's particular obsession is humanity itself? The fun thing is, I really can see Izaya as an autistic character, and not just the crazy guy. My Asperger's is mild, and I don't have any particular aversions to numbers or such things, but I find that I have incredible focus in some areas (anime and manga included) and yet I severely lack that focus in other areas. I find it interesting that your Izaya includes the ability to focus on that much while continuing to maintain his interest. It's fun to see the different ways Asperger's can manifest in someone ;) I also like Kadota's reaction- because people have had similar reactions to me when I talk at times. One thing I do find interesting is that your Izaya can lie very well, while most people I've met who are like myself tend to be very blunt and truthful. I'm also impressed at his ability to read people, because that's HARD. I just really like how you blended autistic traits into Izaya while retaining his original personality. You've done a fantastic job with his characterization. There are some factors of his personality that I think are a little off when it comes to Asperger's, but no person is the same and it is entirely possible that there are some people who are capable of what Izaya is. Either way, amazing job writing this and I find this to be a great read! On a side note, does your Izaya ever burn out? Like reaching that stage where everything is just mentally exhausting and you just want to be left alone and relax? I'm interested to see what your trigger for such a situation with Izaya would be (mine is large crowds and constant interaction with people, but I'm not sure that would hold true for Izaya). |
Guest chapter 16 . 6/18/2016 Ugh, Shinra. You really don't get it, do you? The real reason Izaya is like how he is now is because of your influence! Don't you remember middle school? You said all that crazy talk on humanity and your unlimited love to Celty to where you would even go as far as to KILL someone. See? KILL. You shouldn't teach Izaya something like that! Now look at him! *sighs* Plus, you shouldn't not mention that to Kadota-kun. Oh well. Sorry for this rant review! Hopefully next time will be better. - Aurel~ |
Guest chapter 8 . 6/18/2016 Wait a minute, an anime of Go? Are they talking about Hikaru No Go?! Really? Yay! A great anime reference. [Sorry, random review] - Aurel~ |
Guest chapter 3 . 6/18/2016 Nah, Izaya. You've just become an altered version of being obsessive compulsive. In a way. Sorry. Just needed to joke a bit. - Aurel~ |
Guest chapter 1 . 6/16/2016 ... That moment when you realize there's 72 more chapters to read... Welp, this is going to be fun! - Aurel |
Aglio - Saggezza chapter 73 . 2/25/2016 Thank you so much for writing this fic. I'm a fan of Shizaya and Shinra/Celty, but my true Durarara! OTP has always been Shinra/Izaya, which is why it saddens me so much that there's so little of it out there that's in-character and involves at least some kind of romantic attachment rather than simple, twisted friendship. Obviously, the main pairing-related focus of this fic is Dotazaya, but I really appreciate that as well anyway, seeing as pretty much 98% of all romance-oriented fics that feature Izaya seem to slash him with Shizuo, Shiki or Mikado (all of which I like, but, well, it gets a bit repetitive after a while). That said, I also greatly enjoy the way you portray this fic's particular Izaya's mindset, the banter he shares with various characters, the constant references to various anime, your dialogue-heavy but somehow neither slow nor trite writing style, and much more; but I am, at heart, a shallow romantic and so it's the pairings (one-sided and otherwise) you picked for this story that I found to be the greatest point of interest. |
Kathrine chapter 35 . 12/16/2015 I love the idea of your story and how you write it. Honestly, I was extremely hesistant to read it at first, because I thought it would (yet again, as so many others do) spread bad light on the whole topic about Asperger's Syndrome and Autism. But I'm relieved it didn't, and I love it for that! Now I'll continue to read.. |
vakarine chapter 73 . 12/10/2015 I hope you will continue this story soon. I do not have enough words to describe how amazing that story is and how I am grateful that you're still writing them. As an off-topic and maybe (hopefully) it'll give you more ideas - recently I've read the manga "Bungou Stray Dogs". It's about detectives with supernatural abilities named after japanese authors. It has only 20 chapters in English (though the project is ongoing), but there are 8 raw volumes. The story and characters were OK and sometimes more than OK... and then I looked up the biography of some authors. I just wondered if manga characters somehow reflected their real-life counterparts, maybe there are some jokes I'd understand (I've never read anything of japanese literature). Yep they do reflect, really, the author's name should have been my clue. Strangely, while I read Wiki and remembered some lines/scenes/characters which made so much more sense - I also remembered your works, especially "Barriers". And in the freshly translated Postscript (honestly, translation team is amazing too), the author and artist's knowledge, pov and attention to details again somehow reminded me of your writing. So I thought such manga may interest you, especially since you obviously have much more extensive knowledge of japanese literature:) |
flyed chapter 73 . 10/18/2015 i had never before considered a ship in which kadota was involved, much less kadota x izaya but here it is spun to perfection; izaya breaking the fourth wall with that made me giggle and giggle i did throughout this fic - i haven't put down my phone at all since i picked it up 24 hrs ago burning thru your works - this specifically is the stuff of my dreams for every anime favourite, an entire long episode of just my ships talking ... bravo on yet another brilliant piece X |
Turtle Kid the Woolgatherer chapter 73 . 10/17/2015 Ahah, I'm not sure-have I mentioned before that I love being surprised? Because I love people who act like people (and not characters), and relationships (not just romantic), and surprises! And this story is definitely delivering on all of those! |
Guest chapter 73 . 9/20/2015 kadota and izaya are so cute this chapter :) |
