Coffebum chapter 1 . 2/4/2016 This was beautiful ;.; I don't care what anyone says this is my canon now! Thank you for writing this, I only wish I could see Han's reaction will be when chewie tells him about his past, but I can imagine! Such a great Incharacter story, I just loved it! 3 |

vingirl89 chapter 3 . 1/9/2013 absolutely love this story...wish it was long ...but an amazing take on chewie and Hans connection |
diluvina black chapter 3 . 3/14/2012 it was a wonderful and refreshing story based on a very original idea. Thanks :-) |
ScarecrowMax chapter 3 . 10/31/2011 This story was so amazing, at first I was all no Chewie can't die! Then I was pissed at Shrike, it seemed worse than it did in the books. Then I cried. A lot. And when you had Chewie live I was so so so so happy, I love Chewie, and I always felt sorry for Malla when he died. But love the whole idea and how you played it. |
LynnisaMystery chapter 3 . 6/22/2011 This was so sweet and just all around awesome. I loved it! |
Ennon chapter 3 . 6/20/2011 VERY amazing story you've got here! I like the Prodigal Son aspect of this though I'm a bit confused as to why Chewie didn't recognize Han as HIS 'cub' that he himself had named Han from the very beginning. Was it a case of not wanting to get his hopes up? Also, is there going to be any attempt to unite Han with his original family now that Chewie DOES know Han's heritage. Kudos for the fact that you had this end on a very positive double note of both Chewie discovering Han's TRUE link to him AND that Chewie survives along with Han's younger son Anakin. Hence you used that part of the [usually awful]EU's as a means to spare the Solo family anguish of Han's rejection of his younger son and his younger son so desperate to win Han's affection back that it somewhat led to his own premature death. As has been said elsewhere, I hope you plan to expand this a bit - at the very least get HAN's reaction to discovering that his oldest and most consistant friend was ALSO the dad who cared for him as a baby which gave him the tools to survive the subsequent lonely decades of abuse and victimization without compromizing his priniciples too badly. |
GunslingerHan chapter 3 . 6/19/2011 OK, first the criticisms: (1) I found baby Han's interaction with Chewie very moving for the most part, but it got occasionally too sappy for my taste. So 95% good, 5% sappy. (2) Han's eyes aren't blue; they're hazel. Coronet is the capital of Corellia, not Coruscant. (3) Please DO NOT END this story. There are so many interesting side stories that can be filled in between. Did Dewlanna know Chewie? What happened to the guy who made little Han some new clothes? What details gave Chewie pause and decide he owed a life-debt to someone other than his adopted son? OK, now for the positives: This is the best damn Han-Chewie story I've ever read, period. I hope you write more because I am now an addict. The initial scenario of one type of sentient saving another as a child has been "done" like Tarzan, but this is far better. I really felt Chewie's emotional connection with an adopted child and his willingness to start a family with Malla. The description of the physical environment and your interpretation of the way Wookiees think were extremely apt. In the movies, Chewie is like a father, son, best friend, teacher, student, and pet to Han all at the same time - and you captured the "father" aspect perfectly. I couldn't help but think of the "Prodigal Son" parable while reading this and feeling the father's joy of having his son come back. And on Father's Day! I like you version of Han too. Probably engaged in crime, but also at the same time a realist. Please write future stories - what happens when Han encounters gamblers...gangsters...Force senstives? I would enjoy reading how your interpretation of the character would deal with these types of situations. Before encountering Luke and Obi-won, Han was basically a drug smuggler. I feel you could easily write a crime/angst/adventure story quite easily. One last thing - I like the way you introduce chacters and then they aren't seen again - like that alien who sewed Han's clothes. This often happens in real life. Kudos for the realism. THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT STORY! :) |
Ash TheBeast chapter 1 . 6/15/2011 I love this! You could go in so many directions with this story! Please continue! I can just imagine Han as a little boy. He sounds so adorable! 3 Amazing job so far please keep going! |
EsmeAmelia chapter 1 . 6/15/2011 Very nice idea. You know, a young Han was originally going to appear in ROTS living on Kashyyyk with Chewie - it would have been SO awesome if that idea had gone through. I love the way you're doing Chewie bonding with the "cub." There are a couple of rather important mistakes though. 1. Wookiee is spelling with two "e's." 2. Han's eyes are hazel, not blue. |
