Well, that is one fine way looking at our favorite knucklehead fandom loves him, especially fanon. I think it was the combination of dumb luck, the Kyuubi's healing, his Uzumaki longevity, the diehard fans and Kishimoto's insistence that made Naruto survive for so long. Thinking about it, he reminds me of Avatar Aang and Harry Potter. Saviours of the world the lot of them but really they're just snot nosed brats that are hard to kill.

To have Naruto and Killer Bee blithely smashing through anybody who attempted to reason with them, (since apparently they now believe in peace through superior firepower), directly disobeying every single order they'd been given - for crying out loud, their Kages came to talk to them personally - and risking everything that all the rest of the villages had been doing just for their own personal satisfaction always annoyed the - the everything out of me.
Although if you ask me, most of Naruto's problems came from spending so much time around Jiraiya. No doubt his fangirls will descend on me, but aside from someone like Orochimaru, I can't think of a worse male role model to give a growing kid.

I'm so happy you've written this, I stopped reading the manga the moment Tsunade decided to turn on Raikage and let Naruto pass, drove me up the wall that Naruto can talk his way through absolutely anything, the whole chasing Sasuke is now beyond a joke. Sasuke should be executed back at Konoha for all the stuff he's done so I don't understand why Naruto would want to bring him back if he cares about him so much, seriously he's started to sound like a jilted lover in the anime; gazing up at the sky and whispering 'Sasuke' LMAO.

Yeah mayn I think you got the raikage's personality spot on, sure he also talks a lot but that is only OFF the battlefield, he didn't entertain any conversations during his fight with sasuke.

And even when he was talking a lot at the kage summit, he wasn't sprouting bullshit because everytthing he said was the truth, why should he trust konoha, who have the most members in the akatsuki, madara,itachi,orochimaru, nagato and konan were jiraya's students?

Why should he trust Iwa and Suna, who have been known to work with akatsuki in the past?

And why should he trust kiri, who are the most suspicious and secretive, also rumoured to be the origins of akatsuki.

Yes, the raikage can talk a lot, but it is always off the battlefield and within reason, the same cannot be said about naruto.

If naruto had known about the zetsu's when he decided to rebel, than I might have understood or even condoned his actions, but he didn't known shit about that until later, so which means his actions had nothing to do with that, it was just a stroke of luck on his part that the situation would require his involvement, the point being that you're right, naruto is a self centred,histrionic, and sasuke obsessed freak that would risk the world peace for his own selfish desires.

His reasoning that he didn't want to let everyone to risk their lives for him while he did nothing is also crap. People were not risking their lives just for his sake, they were risking their lives for the sake of the ninja world, it was just an inconvenience and coincidense that protecting the ninja world required that they protect him.

What made me sick the most was before the kage summit, when naruto intercepted the raikage and used "world peace" and twisted some of nagato's words during the konoha destruction arc as an excuse to justify his obsession for sasuke and also to try and convince the raikage to blatently ignore the attack on his village and the capture of death of his brother (yeah he wasn't captured and didn't die but no one knew that at the time).

After critical analysis, I have come to the conclusion that naruto, unlike nagato, does not truly want peace in its accence from the bottom of his heart, it seems to me that peace to naruto, is only peace if it only benefits him and his "precious people", everyone else be damned.

There is no other plausible way to act other than releasing Bee and Naruto with Zetsu infiltrating the army. Shikaku himself stated Naruto was needed in the war and that says a lot. In my opinion you may or may not be jumping on the Naruto-hating bandwagon that seemed to spawn recently.

This really does embody a lot of the most recent pile of crap that Kishimoto has been publishing.

Although moments like this have been happening since, I'm not sure, at least since the Rescuing Gaara arc.

Probably the worst part about that whole mess of a chapter, or maybe it was a chapter or two after that, was when Tsunade said that if Naruto dies the Kyuubi would eventually come back, and everyone treats that as if it was common knowledge. Even though, up until that point, it was established fact that if Naruto dies, the Kyuubi dies.

Hell, that was the whole point behind the Kyuubi giving Naruto access to his chakra in the first place, back in the Chuunin Exams, when Jiraiya tossed him from a cliff and told him to summon a toad to save himself. If it wasn't like that, then why didn't the Kyuubi let Naruto die right then and there? Or in any of the other times that the Kyuubi's chakra saved Naruto's neck?

Seriously, if the real truth was that if Naruto dies the Kyuubi goes free, Sarutobi probably should have just had the kid become a shop-keeper in a village outside of Konoha where ANBU could keep an eye on him. Either that or put him into a coma and keep him that way before sealing the Kyuubi into someone else when he's 90 years old and repeating the process.

My rambling aside, this is a great story, undoubtedly the truth, and I really hope you have more one-shots like this, I would definitely read them.

Very nice, I couldn't agree more. Naruto has a messiah complex that would make most with the same bow down a proclaim him the best at self sacrifice.
