lizziemerk chapter 2 . 11/20/2012 *Sigh* nicely done! |
dfghjkjhutfgrdhjk chapter 2 . 10/9/2012 Oh, I love the Aunt Chatty reference! Dear old soul, she's so sweet. I love Anne and Gilbert. They remind me so much of Lily and James. (Annebert is the best 19th century couple, Jily is the best 20th century couple - I wonder who is the best 21st century couple?) |
dfghjkjhutfgrdhjk chapter 1 . 10/9/2012 AWW! You describe Anne's love and joy so well! |
cilepe chapter 2 . 8/15/2012 That was very nice. My one complaint about AOGG is that we don't get enough Gilbert. This fills the void somewhat. Thank you and well done! |
ElizabethAnneSoph chapter 2 . 6/27/2012 Very beautiful, poetic! I never knew that Gilbert knew such flowery language! But it is just what a girls heart needs! My deepest compliments on your story! |
anneelizabeth chapter 2 . 3/16/2012 I think you got their characters and their writing styles really, really well! i love it :) |
Tinka1 chapter 2 . 2/21/2012 I am re-reading Anne of Windy Poplars now and felt the need too see if anyone had written a letter from Gilbert to Anne. Finding your little ficlet has scratched my itch. I feel like LMM had written it herself. |
wildchild7 chapter 2 . 2/15/2012 I love the letter from Gil even more than the one from Anne! Great writing - this makes me fall for Gilbert all over again! |
Dear Heart chapter 2 . 2/13/2012 How beautiful-simply beautiful! I am more in love with Gilbert than ever. I'm sure everyone must be, too. That love for Anne shines so tenderly in every word he pens. I only wonder, though, if Gilbert really would have written like this? He's much more sensible. But of course, his pen must be just right-and you are a wonderful writer! My congratulations to your future beau: what lovely letters he should receive. If you do still write letters, I mean. I love this! Love, Evening. :) P.s. Happy Valentine's day! |
Vee22 chapter 2 . 2/13/2012 Another beautiful chapter! And again, so true to life - I enjoyed the first paragraph where Gilbert tries to sound like the romantic hero Anne dreams of but ends up rationalising that he can speak flowery prose to her in person. I especially loved that he was thinking about the two children Anne dreamed of and in turn his hopes for them. When inspiration strikes, I hope you'll continue with this story and these letters. I'm enjoying the flow of correspondence between Anne and Gilbert. As I think I've told you, I never got to read Anne of Windy Poplars but this is satisfying me for the time being. ) |
Eternal Evening chapter 1 . 2/12/2012 Really? Only NOW do I find this lovely, wonderful piece of work? For it is beautiful, touching, and so absolutely Anne-ish and Anne-and-Gilbert-ish-definitely what L.M.M. ommitted in Windy Poplars. I love this, completely love it so much! It does sound like Anne, and it gives me thrills so. I don't have time, so sorry if this is short. But I love it, and you're simply wonderful! I can't wait to read the next chapter, and your future works. Love, Evening. :) |
MusicWriterGirl chapter 2 . 2/12/2012 How adorable! You are a very good writer! I enjoyed reading this so much. |
Marant chapter 1 . 10/23/2011 You know, I almost believe that your summary is true! :D You've shaken off the apathy I felt for Anne/Gilbert and revived my long-dormant affection for the two. Beautifully done. |
MakeItAGoodOne chapter 1 . 7/2/2011 Ohh I like it! I like how she feels like she can see her future kids... I have a confession, so can I *blush* I think Anne and I would be kindred spirits. Ahh if only she existed :/ Wish I could write as well as you! |
Vee22 chapter 1 . 6/23/2011 Thank you for writing and sharing this - I found it a real delight to read! You kept true to Anne's character and voice and I can easily imagine this being one of her letters to Gilbert. Look forward to reading more of your work in the future! |
