I just love it when you write in Castle's voice... Beckett's too, but Castle's even more, because I think you 'get' him, the core of him, in a way that few do. Beautiful as always.

This is great! It's exactly what I could imagine him thinking. I actually just watched "Forbidden Planet" last night, yes because of Castle. I'm still in some ways trying to figure out the draw for these two with that movie. I'll have to ponder that one for a while. Anyway, loved this little one-shot. And the title is cute, too.

Corlando recommended this story to me and I'm so glad that she did! It has such a joyful tone to it and your insights about Castle's strong feeling for Kate are spot on. This is even more meaningful after the ending of The Dead Pool. I loved the line about Kate being a drug to him and he needs to feed his habit. I also appreciated the comparison with Meredith and Gina because he truly does want Kate for entirely different reasons. AND, how delightful that Kate was letting him link arms with her and he drove :) Fun piece!

I really loved this. I like how you describe Castle's growing loneliness now that Alexis is growing up. His realization at how far they've come, "He calls himself her 'partner' and she lets him. He understands how huge this is." And how he's begun to realize just how much Kate means to him and how much he wants this. "He knows she's the best shot at happiness he'll ever have." I can feel his longing. Great job.
