i can't believe i missed the two sequels to "a chance encounter," but now that i have read them ...my heart felt tight and in the end elated as i read this final sequel. i'm a huge 1x2 fan, but milliardo here made my heart melt with his understanding and support for duo in making him happy without losing an ounce of respect for his own person. the angst duo felt for deciding who he should pick is almost unimaginable. although i knew there were hints that he should let heero go, i felt his life couldn't have been complete without heero in it and vice versa. heero seemed to take a bit of a back seat here, but i loved how he seems so much more relax and calm. if he was more forceful about wanting duo back i think the ending wouldn't have been so favorable. thanks for the wonderful story and although this fandom isn't what it used be, writers like you always make me return to see if a new well-written literary delight is around. thanks for all your hard work and i hope you'll still be around to write more for us readers when you have the chance!

It would be interesting to see a sequel. Would Heero remain as a nude cook or get a job? Would Quatre and Trowa move back to Earth? And what about Relena and the press? Still, really enjoyed how you wrote Zechs and Duo. They are so cute together!

Im so glad you decided to continue your writing because you are one of my favorite. The story "should old aquaintance be forgot" I like very much though Im surprised of the possible threesome ending. I didnt thought it was your cup of tea. Mine its neither but sometimes its the only satisfying solution and when its plausible written I like it too. Im looking forward to a sequel where the guys work this out together.

A threesome :Db. I was as split up as Duo over what he should do. I'm glad all three ended up happy but at the same time I want to knock Duo over the head about having to make Milliardo compromise. If I ever find a lover as understanding as him, I'd definitely marry him.

I had to laugh. I TOTALLY can identify with Duo in this story. My divorce isn't final yet, and my ex-to-be is living in the spare room in the house, and while he hasn't said anything about trying to stop the divorce, he's been especially nice to me. In a totally platonic way, mind you. Meanwhile, a guy I've been only slightly acquainted with for a few years, told me the minute I'm divorced he REALLY wants to get to know me better. He says the SWEETEST things, and I actually am looking forward to being free to date him sometime soon. BUT...no matter how rotten my ex-to-be has been, I also don't want to rub his face in the fact that someone else is interested in me. (Weird, I know, considering the horrible way he's treated me...but it's hard to hate someone you've been with for so very long, when you know they are going to be miserable once you're really apart. I have no desire to "even up" the score by hurting him the way he hurt me. Just a softie, I guess.) ANYHOW, I was delighted that Duo got BOTH the guys, though...maybe if you throw in another chapter of the saga, Heero and Mill might have to share a bit of themselves with EACH OTHER as well as Duo. Thanks for not leaving poor Heero out in the cold. No matter how he messed up, he doesn't deserve misery, y'know? Nobody does, really. The world could use more compassion and empathy. So thanks for a happy ending for all...and a lovely depiction of what LOVE-REAL love-is all about...worrying about the happiness of the one you love, even before your own. Nice. I love it!

Love Duo's funny understatement acknowledging Mill's faulty past:

This is so achingly sad: "...If I'd known you were off somewhere getting help, I'd have supported you. I'd have waited forever, if that's how long it would take.""

Oh, and I agree with Duo's assessment here, and sympathize: "Oh hell. This had the makings of a disaster."

And yet... wow... you twisted it into a 2 by 2 threesome of the oddest sorts. It works alone like this leaving us to wonder how this arrangement will work out. Will Mill become estranged or will he and Heero fall in love too?
