Jibbs and Gabby, really? And Gibbs didn't blink? Am I reading too much into these names? IMHO, he could have corrected to Libbs and Labby, and the latter name would not refer to Leroy! I'd love to have a sequel from Gibbs' point of view now. Eli's was perfect as is!

Oh man. Just read this and, wow, how lovely. Not cracky at all, in my opinion, but just a wonderful insight into Eli's thoughts on Ziva's new life. Sad but hopeful at the same time. Well done!

I enjoyed this a great deal, especially as everyone contributed their own bits (I lol-ed at Bat-witch Gabby and the wise old duck wizard and Tony the peacock) and yet I'm really quite sad. It's very bittersweet and well wrought, I wish this Eli could be the real Eli, I don't feel he's very far off. And yet I don't want Eli to be even this bit sympathetic bc I want to hate him for what he's put Ziva through *L* Great work here :)

I love this story. It appeals to the part of me that hopes there is a happily ever after for all of them, even Eli. I like how everyone played along at embellishing the story.

Hmmm ... interesting and for the girl to call him Mr. Eli was funny though I figured it must be her granddaughter for her to get something from him. He doesn't strike me as the type to indulge in other peoples children. Heck the parents would probably be too scared to let her talk to him much less request a story.

I don't know how many times I've seen Enemies Foreign/Domestic (as my mother kept replaying these two episodes over and over and over...), but I enjoyed them very much. And your alternative end to that is really, really, really good. I enjoy the dynamic between Eli and Ziva, the complexity of their relationship, the threads of connection they retain despite everything, so having the story continue, in a different way, was a lot of fun to read. Also, I really love NCIS, so any story involving them is enjoyable (I haven't yet started in on other fanfics in this particular site, though). I'm also a Tiva fan, so nice to see Tony being his usual peacocky self (you really, really nailed it with the bird analogy when it comes to the team!). Thanks for sharing the story. If you have any more, would be glad to read it.
