Thank you for this. It was one of the first stories I read. I enjoy the way you update it too. When things get too hectic in my life, I reread this from the first chapter and it calms me, so, thank you.

These are lovely. Sherlock is one of my favorites and fun to write. You've captured them beautifully. Scandal in Belgravia was my favorite.

Did you know that the actress who plays Mrs. Hudson is a friend of Benedict's mother? She's known him all his life.

Oh, I can just see Mrs. Hudson being like this in the TV series. It fits her personality so well. She loves Sherlock so much (and you can see that in the show). I can just imagine what she'd have done to Donovan or Mycroft if they really went overboard. *grins* Mayhap you can show her slapping Donovan when she catches her calling Sherlock a 'freak'? Or giving a stern talking to Mycroft when he comes over to see Sherlock, after the fall. *waggles eyebrows*

Thank you for the sentiment in the author's note, and I agree with you. These are special stories, the ones you write. You can tell you've lived them either yourself or some one close to you. You do write from the heart. :-)

This is very, very well written, and such an interesting take on how Sherlock and Mrs Hudson met. I would love to see more of how exactly Sherlock ensured that Harold never bothered her again, and how he decided he wanted to help her in the first place. I hope you feel like writing it. This was a delight to read. I think you did a pretty good job with the characters and I do hope to see more. I really adored Sherlock's bit of childishness in the first chapter, and how Mrs. Hudson could sense that. I like how she wondered why on earth he'd want the thing, but seeing how badly he did want it, she bought it for him. The abrupt manner in which Sherlock stated he wanted to help her was perfect.

As for this chapter, it was really very heartwarming. I loved Mrs. Hudson's dialogue and her reaction to Sherlock appearing and playing. She's a sweet woman.

It's a lot more evident in this second series that Sherlock does have a fondness for Mrs. Hudson, even if she sometimes isn't too bright. You do a good job showing the back story that brought that fondness to fruition. Like I said, I hope to see more!
