Seems kinda weird to say that Harry felt sorry for the house elves "for once"

The whole concept of a loyalty meter seems kinda invasive, but at the same time like a very good idea for Harry in particular. Actually it would probably be better if Dumbledore had made a sort of inverted version of that watch that Harry could just point at someone to determine their loyalty to him

I really like the way that you characterize Harry and Hermione so far. It's also really easy to imagine each scene/setting that you set up, which I appreciate. And I like that all my super basic questions are getting answered by Harry not instantly understanding every possible problem and thus actually asking

The other students are very lucky that Harry Potter, King of Disasters, was the first one through the barrier

I've got some strong feelings about the whole instigating event used for this story, but this is good writing and a very interesting concept
