Wow! You really did a lot of research! It was very nice, truth to the times and had nice characterization.

A gem! You create a vivid and affectionate picture of student life at Cambridge. I always respected Peter as a character in the books (though Lewis writes him a bit too-good-to-be-true) and it's lovely to see him grown up into a studious young man on the brink of his first romance. -Pogonia

I'm not sure if I ever told you (or asked you) that I added this to our community some time ago. It was very ill mannered of me not to ask first, but I very much hope you don't mind.

It's an excellent story with a strong whiff of something the great majority of stories on here don't have... a foundation in good ol' history.

Oh, I LOVED this! I loved seeing Peter still being chivalrous High King Peter even in England. He was perfectly written. And I loved the mention of Flynn's Robin Hood. The best!

*ahem* Wow. Just, wow. Actual research and period language do SO MUCH for authenticity. This is a diamond in the (relative) pigsty of fanfic that is the poor beleaguered Narnia archive.

Or, as anasazidarkmoon said on deviantART (and is now the tagline of my community): "Reading fanfic is like panning for gold in a sewage pipe...you gotta dig through a lot of sh-t before you find the real treasure."

I am so happy after reading this! And you almost make me wish the Christmas break was over so I was going back myself (I'm a Girtonian, so the mention of that *lovely* cycle ride was the best!) I hope people who aren't at Cambridge loved it too, of course, but it was great to see King Peter the Magnificent in my university, acting practically the same in the library as me! Fancying a girl from my college :D Great piece of work, you got Cambridge and Peter perfectly. x

I LOVED this look at Peter's college life! This isn't seen too much, at least from what I've read, and I LOVE it when friends or estranged family of the Pevs notice things about them that set them off into wondering! *U* This is GORGEOUS! *U* The careful pacing and such is AMAZING, and the structure just RULED! *U* Rock on! Loved his Narnian reflections (and the 'English' stuff-yay, lit. nerds)! *U*

Quite good. It was an interesting one-shot. You captured Peter's personality almost perfectly.

I must love stories that are "nostalgic" and "very English" because this story had me smiling from beginning to end.

I smiled at the reference to the symbolism in Dante's Inferno because my professor spent two weeks picking the symbolism to death. And I have such a weakness for chivalry. I would like to be Miss Theresa Spencer, I think, although I don't tend to go for blondes. The banter between Peter and Tess was great - it's nice to have a friend-who-might-be-more-than-a-friend like that :) All of the dialogue was very natural and flowed well.

The remarks about poor Bertha Tomlinn reminded me a bit of a scene in "White Christmas." "Go to Smith? She couldn't even spell it!"

"It now seemed incredible that the full grown man who had been High King Peter the Magnificent was now studying for an Arts degree and trying to work up the courage to ask a pretty girl to a dance." Very good line.

The way you portrayed the traditions of the school was lovely - finding wives at Homerton, suspecting that your professor does not realize/care that you do in fact have a life outside of class. As much as a pain that school can be sometimes, I do love it.

This is really awesome, Breeze! It was so funny and sweet, and I love how Peter was thinking about Narnia without being angsty! And he had friends! Good, normal, funny friends! And I loved seeing Peter's gentlemanly side has carried over, it was a cool thing to focus on. And I liked the English-ness of it. You guys are cool.
