sad and good

OMG, you made me want to protect Dean from Sam more than I've ever felt even when he drunk blood, ran around with Rubby, went crazy from constant devil taunting, or lost his soul. Dean was still protecting Sammy even though he could bare see him. Too much hurt, but perfect. Both baring it together as brothers up against insurmountable odds. Great story:-)

Powerful story. "They get looks, like they always do; at Dean's eyes, which are huge behind the lenses of his glasses and only look somewhat focused, the fact that he's dressed like he's in a biker gang and has a guy hanging off his arm. Sam rolls his shoulders, stretches to his full height, puffs out his chest, stares down anyone who looks at them funny." You painted pictures. Thank you.

It's edgy and rather strange but that's a good thing. I liked the darkness, and their encroaching desperation.

oh wow. This was wonderful. I love this 'verse. I would loooveee to see more from it. I was just thinking as I read this that I am always really impressed by the way you are able to create these completely different circumstances, and almost these completely unique Dean/Sam's, using these same characters. Reading your stories is like reading a lot of different versions of how their lives could've been, and each one is as convincing and well explored as the last. Awesome job, and thank you, as always, for sharing.

Spot-on characterizations and loved the twist on Sam wanting to kill demons after they never really had the chance to hunt.

Loved this so much that I'm kinda hoping you'll continue and do more stories in this universe.

Well, you did say it was AU and wouldn't have a rainbow ending. And you were right. But it did have alot of emotion to it and a dark, cracking tension that ran through almost every word. You could feel the rage and the need in Sam and the fear and the desperation in Dean. And I thought to myself how frightened Dean must be that if Sam did finally do something so violent that he got locked away or- worse- killed, what would happen to him? It was dark but it did make me burst out into laughter at one point-

"...about how he lost most of his eyesight...saving...poor folks from the hands of a..dastardly sub-prime mortgage broker."

-but then I stopped laughing and realized just how evil and frightening that really is :(

This is dark and strange and full of frustrated fury and the futile pereception of wasted lives. Something that could have happened in some other reality where Sam and Dean, through no fault of their own, are not hunting evil and saving people. Very interesting.
