A great start. Personally, I think Harry should have given the Wizarding world the finger after his first year, no later than the second. Beauxbatons and Durmstrang are perfectly good schools. Tutoring is also an option.

I don't know if you're still writing, but I'd love to see a follow-up, be it a one-shot or something longer, that shows the consequences of life after the Boy-Who-Left gave everyone what that they deserved.

The ending was pretty cheesy and childish. Let's be honest, of course it's going to happen again

One shots will never be my favorite type of tale, that said I still enjoy reading ones from time to time due to the (normally) short period of time it takes to read one. In some ways I think it is harder to write a one-shot, or should I say a good one-shot. In other tales one has the time to build up the background, the characters and the mood of the tale. In a one-shot that all ends up having to be compressed, and importantly, interesting to the writer and the reader. A good ending is also important as it does not leave the reader hanging, rather they can use their own imagination as to what may come to pass.

You did a fine job of it here. First, you grabbed my attention with the headline, it had me going, huh? What is going on here? You kept it up with short, solid sections, each leading to the next and then Harry's justifiable and quite understandable response. Finally you ended the tale with 'Never Again', what came across to me as the new battle cry of the light. While Harry is gone, to where, who knows. Those that let him down have vowed that it will happen Never Again, they will fight the Dark in Harry's memory. Perhaps that is the power he knows not.

A dark but very interesting story.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd I would love to read a sequel to this one, too. (I know, I know, the idea of investing more time and all into the HP fanfic world after so much time has passed likely doesn't appeal in the slightest, but it's fun to dream.)

I'm glad Harry got away from them. It is a shame no one came to the boy's aid. Finding Harry was an accident. What does it say when only the hateful Severus Snape and the Lovegoods believed in Harry? Dumbledork and the rest deserve to be left behind.

But it's not exactly true ...

Evil wins when good people do too little!
When they let others, children for example, fight for them.
Good loses by being too good, by tolerating, forgiving, allowing second chances.

I expect Tom to kill most of the magicals in Britain before the rest of the witless wizzy world, like France, the USA, and others unite to kill him.

Or maybe Tom will SHATTER The Statute Of Secrecy and the muggles will exterminate everything magical.

It no longer matter whether every student stands up or not. As the title says, it's too late. I don't understand why Fumblewhore is so upset by this. He did mold Harry to not care about anyone period. Not even himself. He wanted a martyr so did everything in his considerable power to make one. Unfortunately, Harry came to the conclusion that his life was more important then dying for the magical world. Maybe, just maybe this will act as the wake up call Fumbles needs to actually find and destroy Tom's Horcruxes.

...and then it happened again, i'm sure :D Peoppe being brainless idiots and all that. Great story.
