I really really really hope you continue this fantastic story. I love Death's characterization (it's been awhile since I read the Book Thief, so it's bringing back memories)

Also, can't wait for Jack's introduction, deaths and resurrections. I bet Death would conflicted about Jack.

A good story but the opening is from the Book Thief and because I have read it so many times I couldn't shake the idea that this story with an opening like that should be about ww1 or 2.

Overall really good story though

I got The Book Thief out of the library this week, and I blame/thank you. I'd seen it around, and then - way back in December - you posted this. So I wrote it on my booklist, and now I'm reading it.

And now I've read this. :D

I'd love to see it continued if you ever get more ideas. You don't have to go consecutively... You could skip to the next regeneration, for instance. But I think you've got Death's narration down pretty well, and I'd love to read more. :)

I cannot tell you how amazing this is. I absolutely adore “Book Thief”, and I’d never thought of crossing it with the Doctor before, but it’s so perfect. You’ve got the character of Death down; this is the way that he thinks. His little notes in the middle, and just the way that he looks at things. And this line;

“You might wonder that Death would want anyone to escape, much less the Doctor, a man dedicated to making things better. But he had saved the world so many times, lessening my load in the process. Every time he snatched someone from my hands, I had to smile.”

So perfect.

Excellent, excellent fic; I hope that you continue it!

Oh my goodness. This is... brilliant. Honestly brilliant. Why have I not seen this crossover before? I think you're doing a great job at imitating Death's mannerisms, and his bolded text with the key words and everything. Maybe a bit more references to color though? I picked up on that while reading The Book Thief. Either way, I'm eagerly awaiting updates to this, should you continue. This is too good of a concept to pass up.

Interesting concept. I would have never thought of putting Death and the Doctor together...but I do have to say that it makes loads of sense. Nice work. Would love read more.
