xDaNaExReVeNgEx chapter 12 . 11/4/2013 Hello. This will be a bit wordy, and kind of personal; since English is not my first language, please ignore any mistakes in my grammar and spelling you might see here, hehe. Okay, here it goes. I have to admit I've been introduced very recently to Yu-Gi-Oh (and by that, I mean I started and finished reading the manga less than a month ago). I came here from TvTropes and I've been reading a lot of your stories, and I've loved each and every single one so far. I love how you can reveal so much about the characters and their relationships through small, seemingly insignificant moments of their daily lives. I love the way you convey the friendship between the characters, especially since the theme of friendship is what really got me into YGO. Yes, I'm getting sappy. I'm not sorry :) However, I especially loved the "A Ship Sailing..." stories. I've been dealing with grief this semester, so I really identified with the characters; namely, Honda in "The Silent Land", Anzu herself (I'm afraid I would end up doing the same as her in her situation), and especially Yugi, being unable to voice my feelings about the situation. Why am I saying this here, you ask? Because I've been incredibly depressed the last few months, but "Miss You Most at Christmastime" (combined with the rest of the series) made me feel a lot better about what has happened. The story was bittersweet, but also funny and heartwarming. TL;DR: Thank you. This is just what I needed. |
SerenePanic chapter 12 . 6/6/2012 This is NOT the thing to read at ten at night, after you find out your best friend's day sucked and you're already feeling emotionally unstrung. I thought Anzu broke up with him, for goodness sake! Not DIED! I mean, sure, it was well written, but I spent the first few chapters thinking they had broken up, until they basically said she died! I liked the plot, and it was really good, but it was still really sad... |
Solmae chapter 12 . 1/4/2011 This was a lovely Christmas fic! And a beautiful addition to the Ship Sailing arc. Part 11-12 made me cry. The expression of - and dealing with - grief was portrayed beautifully, and it really resonated with my own loss from a few years ago. Thank you for sharing your beautiful fic. I really liked this one very much. |
SamCyberCat chapter 12 . 12/28/2010 This was so very perfect. I'm glad there was a happy ending, for quite a large chunk of this I was worried that there wouldn't be. Everything fell into place so nicely, and I do hope this story encourages a bit of support towards Macmillan. My favourite part had to be Otogi's argument about his sexuality though, poor guy. A little curious as to how Honda knew about the hairclip as well mind you. ;P Hope you had a good Christmas! |
MyAibou chapter 12 . 12/27/2010 Okay, I cried at the name of the charity. LOVE this. I love a story that's sad but still ends with hope. Not better, but getting there. Brilliant. Thank you for sharing. |
MyAibou chapter 11 . 12/27/2010 Interesting. So the old woman wasn't a lesson, but Meron and the wishing tree is... |
MoonClaimed chapter 12 . 12/27/2010 Very, very sweet. And it was really beautiful. I loved the ending, but now I feel like crying... |
ch-ch-ch-ch-cherry bomb chapter 12 . 12/25/2010 This was amazing. Great. Brilliant. Touching. Drove me to tears. Beautiful. Perfect. I loved it. Merry Christmas! |
SamCyberCat chapter 11 . 12/25/2010 This was so very touching. I'm glad that Yuugi managed to find someone so connected to Anzu but so unconnected to the rest of his group to talk to, and a lot of things about the series came to light here. Also, although it's a small thing I really like that you mentioned how Anzu was fine with her step-dad. As someone who lives happily with a mum and step-dad it's a refreshing change to not see step-parents written in a negative light. Really looking forward to the last chapter. |
Starfire201 chapter 8 . 12/25/2010 Poor Yuugi just keeps getting himself into some strange situations. |
Isis the Sphinx chapter 10 . 12/22/2010 Here's to hoping she can get Yuugi out of his slump. Looking forward to more. Keep writing! |
MyAibou chapter 10 . 12/22/2010 "Why give me back him, but then take her? Was it my fault? Was she the price I had to pay to get him back?" SOB. Nice twist at the end. Curious to see where this goes. Perhaps she can help him find closure? |
darkrunner chapter 10 . 12/22/2010 You don't just tug at heartstrings, Scribbler, you rip them out and punch them in the stomach. I thought the original Ship Sailing... fics were tough, but poor Yugi! I can't wait to see what Meron has to say to him. :) Hopefully she can help him out a bit! Fantastic fic, as always! Can't wait for more! |
YamiHeart chapter 10 . 12/22/2010 heh. Drunk buisness men playing leap frog. |
