star574 chapter 1 . 12/14/2010 You ever need a perfect velociraptor call, just come over to my house. I have an F1 Bengal, and he sounds *exactly* like the velociraptors in Jurassic Park. So much, in fact, I named him Raptor. |
TMPR chapter 1 . 12/8/2010 Awwww this was cute ) |
DarkBlueBella chapter 1 . 12/2/2010 Beautiful story, which tells us about friendship, mending your heart and dangers of drinking games, lol. Loved your last line, perfect. Well done! |

rameau chapter 1 . 11/24/2010 So close, but so far. So similar, but so different after all. Finished my own Jake/Leah one shot and couldn't help but compare these two each step of the way. I like that not every story and every love is that passionate kind, but why couldn't it have been for these two? It takes time for a broken heart to mend, but it doesn't mean it'll have to be blind in the mean time. Still, I liked it. |
evilgiraffe82 chapter 1 . 11/23/2010 My beautiful, wonderful Mystic. I can't even describe how much fun it was to write this with you - I can't wait to do it again :D Thank you so, so much for letting me fangirl over Jurassic Park (again and again and again), and for putting in the sad bathroom wank. It is by far my favourite moment, even better than the motherfucking volvo. Evidently I just can't help enjoying being cruel to the characters I love the most... Oh, and free-ride my arse. You put all the plot in! TheMysticGiraffe will return! |
HoochieMomma chapter 1 . 11/23/2010 How beautiful. ADORE this story. ADORE. It's such a perfectly complete oneshot, expertly executed, with a beautiful, moving and slightly unexpected ending. ...And is this the right place to say I totally LOVE your section breaks with J&L in them! How cool ;) Bravo - you got my vote and congratulations on a well-deserved win! |
rakikel chapter 1 . 11/20/2010 what a lovely story! i loved it! i didn't think i would ever like a freindship story, but you did surprise me. |
mycrookedsmile chapter 1 . 11/20/2010 I love this! really wonderful. I felt sad, at first, that they didn't get it on, but it was true to the characters. And of course, it worked out how it was meant to. Congrats on winning! |
Firefly-class chapter 1 . 11/20/2010 wow, this was amazing. the ending made me like even more. |
Jeakat chapter 1 . 11/20/2010 Oh my God, this was so sweet that it almost made me cry! Brilliant story. For me personally the characters were perfect, exactly how I expect them to act. Loved it |

40Miles chapter 1 . 11/20/2010 OMG. The size of my grin when I got to the last few lines of this story... HUGE. I will now attempt to review without spoiling for nosy people like me, who always check reviews before bothering to read. What can I say, I'm a sucker for the characters you choose. Luckily you compartmentalised the parts I needed to skim beautifully, so thank you for that, LOL. Much appreciated! Friendship is such a precious thing. Sometimes it is transient, sometimes it lasts a lifetime. You never know what sort you will encounter, but 'book' Jake always strikes me as someone I would want to hang onto as a friend for life. I'm really glad that you collaborated so seamlessly to write this in a way that allowed long-term friendship grow, rather than take the 'easier' option of 'going out with a bang.' So many writers also take the easy option of making Leah relentlessly bitter. I'm a wolf-fic fan, so I come across this all too often. I think lots of us can empathise with how awful it is to lose love, but it was particularly pleasing to see Leah accept nothing less than a wholehearted love-interest for herself. From about half way through the story I was half hoping, half dreading how the end would play out. And here we are, back to my huge grin. Thanks you two. I enjoyed this so much, and was so pleased that you both achieved the result you absolutely deserved. |
