I really liked this! I wish the show had focused more on the effects of the attack on Hotch (like they did with Reid), so it's nice to find stories like this to read as sort of "between the scenes" happenings.

I especially like that Hotch's immediate thought is to his family history of heart attacks- that was a nice bit of detail from a much earlier episode, and made his symptoms seem all the more alarming. Also, Hotch would totally believe he's having a heart attack and try to calmly excuse himself instead of asking for help...haha.

You are right. Hotch doesn't allow him to get help for himself. He only allows himself to help others which isn't good for his health. Please keep on writing.

This is a really great story. I can see Hotch having a panic attack. When he first got onboard the jet in Haunted, he spoke really softly. Also I think there was more to Foyet's attack that he never mentioned. When Emily asked him if he wanted to talk about what happened in Nameless, Faceless, he was quiet for a moment like he was debating weither to tell he more then he told her that after the first time everything went blank. That could be why he reacted to Reid's comment about stabbing being a subsitute for sex. Could Foyet had raped him?

Oh my gosh lol i just had to start this review was soon as I read the bit about Rossi's left eye tightening! haha cuz i see it on the show and it kills’ me that you would write this! it brings me joy to see other people who are so in the know with CM, that’s the kind of detail that makes it so visible to the reader. kk reading on...OHHiH! Pure terror? Normally I would be mocking this kind of story it seems emo, but the way you write it immediately i felt that it was not like that. I never got the emo vibe and that’s amazing because it just makes us enjoy the story!...AWEE he’s so cute when he’s talking to rossi!...OMGOMGOMG kay i love Reid! i love how you said he sounded like he’s going thro puberty! hahaa so true he's my fav and Hotch is my 2nd. the kind of details you give about his swallowing is very effective, and Rossi is just amazing in this fic...i love how you managed to include the team without making it seem like your where deliberately trying to include them. "He didn't see the look of empathy on David Rossi's face, because he didn't reopen his eyes." just one example of the many amazing lines you have For the love and protection each person on that jet feels toward another I like how Emily had said "the reaper" and how Rossi had used his name as a way to control the fact it was just a person. Putting the team in like that was perfect and didn’t feel like you where working too hard at it. The h/c is exactly the same amount that the show would write not too much not too little. P.s i love this! id love to see some panic attack on the plane by Reid or any other member of the tream , (reaid cuz he’s like the kid of the group so they would all be worried) love love this story! Cant wait to read more ttfn

That was really realistic. Very neat, and I actually feel like I understand what a panic attack is now. :) I thought they had to be more severe/dramatic - you did well though showing the team reacting realistically and depicting how Hotch would feel it is a weakness. Very well done little scene! :)

Very well done! I could really feel how terrified Hotch was during his panic attack, especially at first, when he thought he was having a heart attack. I love that Rossi could be there for him and help him realize what was happening.

I read this story a while back and for some reason I didn't review it or favorite it then. Don't know what I was thinking! Sorry! I'm glad I found it again. I really think it's great!

Vivid description of what Hotch felt. And a reasonable experience given what he went through. The CM folks certainly liked to hint that Hotch wasn't as all right as he tried to show, but not show details. Everyone felt in character. One thing though: the team profiled Foyet as Piqueristic, so it struck me as odd that Rossi would jump to the conclusion that Foyet said anything. I would think the reminder of the type of knife attack Hotch suffered would be enough.

Wonderful story! Very well written! I love Rossi's and Hotch's friendship, and I think you've captured them perfectly!
