This is beautifully written, a perfect first fic. I also liked how you blended the two worlds into one - it was very well done. the cameo mention from Sir Didymus was an added bonus, and goblins running around are always a spectacular treat. I like your characterization for a mature, patient Sarah who never forgot her adventure but carried on with her life as a normal person would (well as much as possible with goblins popping up all the time) Your selection of wine made me snicker, though wouldn't it be funny to learn that a certain Goblin King actually would prefer white to red? LOL! He can be ornery as we all know. ;) I also think this is perfect as it stands for a one shot. however, I wouldn't mind at all to read more. Good writing, I look forward to reading more of your fictions.

Oh, and I also second 'UndergroundDaydrerams' comment about your use of Euroean phrases and such, I find them refreshing mixed in with American writing.

Fantastic intro! I love the little details, like purposely not selecting red wine because it would be giving in to him. And your descriptions are truly lovely, especially of the garden and the mixture of Aboveground and Underground. I cannot wait for your next update!

I saw this advertised on the yahoo group and I thought it was a very good first story. It was well written and the characterisation of Sarah was depicted well. Disappointed maybe that the Goblin King himself didn't make a cameo - especially with the wonderful build up. Although saying that, without him there it creates a nice element of mystery.

Very good! Nicely written. I like the image of the garden, still her parents', but not, shifted & twisted. Also very amusing - the smellier the goblin, the more trouble you could expect.

Oh, and don't try too hard with the Americanizing. I love reading books by UK authors. Makes me smile. And then I want to start using words like bugger, daft, hurrah, bloody, and knackered, among others. They're just so much more fun than our words. ;)
