Shun chapter 1 . 1/21/2013 ah, loved this story! this is how it should've been :D |
Willofthewisp chapter 1 . 8/27/2011 Oh wow, you categorized this as angst and you weren't kidding! I can feel Elizabeth's pain so well, the exact torture she must have been going through. "As she let her sobs wrack her body, she did not notice his dark shape coming closer to her. In her oblivion, he drifted nearer, until he was only mere inches from her."-So cinematic! So soulful. Your writing style really made this one come alive for me. How dark, but you know, AWE needed something like this, some confrontation, some resolution. Viewers needed to see why Jack didn't do the same to Elizabeth that he did to Barbossa. It makes their scenes afterwards so uneven. This would have at least filled in some gaps. Your writing is so passionate and I can tell how much effort you put into it. Well done! |
aresgirl chapter 1 . 6/13/2011 I loved it! You have great grammar and spelling. Hope you keep writing because you have talent. I'm an editor and writer and I think that you can go far with your talent. You did a fine job of writing Jack Sparrow's words. It's not easy to write for a character with such a specific way of talking, and with a bit more practice reading your work will be like hearing Jack himself talk! Keep up the good work. I'm adding this story to my favorites. I'm seeing Pirate's four tomorrow, hopefully it will inspire a new fic for me. |
Cap'n Jackie Sparrow chapter 1 . 3/19/2011 That was beautiful. Jack should've killed her though. |
Scolander chapter 1 . 11/14/2010 Aw, I loved that ending. It makes a change from the fluffy ones I usually end up reading. It reminds me a lot of the first film in a way. I must admit I do love Sparrabeth much more than Willabeth so this piece was perfect to me. It illustrates their relationship perfectly. Just one more thing: PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN FAN! lol yh...Thanks for writing this piece and for giving people a good Sparrabeth fanfic to read :D |
DahSandwich chapter 1 . 9/11/2010 How BEAUTIFUL! What a great story! I want to read more of ye ;p Thanks very much fot this wonderful beuatiful great one of the bests story. :D |
Addicted to Jack chapter 1 . 9/8/2010 Wow, this was breathtaking! I absolutely loved every line... Thank you for ending it the way you did :) |
Witchy Pixie chapter 1 . 8/17/2010 This was really well written and I love the ending line! |
M. S. Arora chapter 1 . 8/17/2010 You were right in your author's note: this definitely wasn't a fluffy Sparrabeth piece. The movie doesn't quite elucidate the transition of Jack's attitude towards Elizabeth after the Locker scene. It goes from ignoring her, to voting her Pirate King, to giving up immortality, far too quickly. This one-shot effectively paints a possible adjoining scene. '"Why the tears, darling?" he murmured, startling her. Elizabeth quickly tried to scrub away her tears as Jack scrutinized her face. "Ye've rescued me, yer betrothed is none the wiser, and ye've come off with scant punishment. I'd say that be cause for celebration, not sadness."' - Jack's wrath was completely understandable- in fact, I would have been surprised if he'd decided to forgive Elizabeth any more easily. Admittedly, his new ferocity scared me. We've always known him as the cajoling, carefree sort, so seeing him in such a enraged state really made this scene rather dark. Just a tiny side note that might give the dialogue a tad more authenticity: 'ye' is generally reserved for Barbossa and Gibbs. Jack sticks to 'you' throughout the trilogy. Same with 'yer', I think. 'I have to admit, that is the most creative way anyone has ever tried to kill me.' - Well phrased! I admit, despite the seriousness of the situation, I couldn't help but raise an amused eyebrow at that. '"Lizzie, I'm not worth dying for."' - That was a sudden change, I felt. From wanting to kill her, he abruptly confessing his true feelings. Perhaps a small paragraph in between would explaining the shift would have made the one-shot flow a little better at that point. The ending was sweet. Forgiving is easy, but maybe not forgetting. Jack comes to a fair decision. The final sentence wrapped up the piece beautifully. Well done. :) Finally, thank you for neat spelling and punctuation- they made this piece a good read. I'm looking forward to reading more of your work. :) All my best, MsAurora |
TheCafeBean chapter 1 . 8/16/2010 Great work on Jack's character, I could imagine him doing that. I am a die-hard Sparrabeth fan, and they are not many writers that can write nice stories for this paring. Keep writing. |
