The first few chapters caught my interest. The few happy ones I honestly enjoyed. And then the tragedy and mindfuck began. I've never had my brain twisted so much by a story while still following final few paragraphs were some of the saddest words I've ever read. I won't call it a favorite, as I prefer even the most tragic stories to have a somewhat hopeful ending (don't misunderstand me, what Shepard had become NEEDED to be put down to give hope to anyone else, what I'm saying is there's nothing positive for the reader to latch onto. Yes I realize that was your stated goal in chapter 1. I was dumb and didn't believe you) it was definitely one of the more interesting things I've Read in a while. Now I'm off to read the extra bits and maybe your other stories. Hopefully they're less depressing.

I was so sad at the end but glad his pain ended, then read on to see Shepard was tortured til the end :-(
Very well written and flowed well. Reeling from how much pain he had to endure even after his death while never noticing the sacrifice of his children.

poor jacob, but his demise leave me wondering what happened to the rest of the crew

i didnt notice that this was written before ME3 at first

the fact that shepard is mostly robotic is kind of glossed over in cannon, good to see this is about to change in this fic

its sad to see tali go renegade

the end of the reaper war is with surpisingly littel fanfare, good to see no catalyst though

it seems like the reapers are losing under the collective firepower of the galaxy, but every victory comes at a cost...

yay, i had my daily dose of depression of the day ( alliteration FTW ), really i should have listened to the warning, i defiantly did not expect this, its got something special to it i'll give it that. not much else to give, this story took all that away. also on another note, i now feel happy and dignified in curling up in a corner and crying for some reason. i wonder why :P

I have to admit, this story was not what I expected it to be. I couldn't stop myself from reading on though, hating and loving it at the same time. Very well written, very innovative, with a very dark ending. Hope to see more ME stuff like that from you.

Well, I think it's fairly safe to say that you accomplished what you set out to do. You have essentially ripped out my soul, chopped it up, burnt it to a crisp, smashed it to pieces, frozen those pieces then smashed them again, buried them and pissed on the grave, dug them out, ate them, vomited them out, fed them to a dog, shot that dog into the void of space and then, just to make sure that I was sufficiently hurt...you gave me the bird with both hands.

While I appreciate the great work you were able to do with this, and the fact that it was expertly written, you'll forgive me if I have to go run off and find a sappy fic just so I can regain some semblance of sanity.

I went back to ME3 recently and replayed the extended cut endings... after finishing the Control ending I found myself thinking about this story and how easy it would be for something like this to happen in that scenario.
