Reviews for Walkers with the Dawn
Gubefan1980 chapter 1 . 6/20/2014
That was a sweet, poignant story love the relationship btwn Prentiss and Reid. Interesting, yet logical that they would develop some work related phobias. Is it really throwing someone under the bus to disclose their fears? Or does it make them more human as when Morgan told Reid about his own nightmares. I'm sure that disclosure brought them together more than anything else. They all have their demons. Just because Reid is the youngest member of the team, that doesn't makes him weak. Nicely done.
Magil chapter 1 . 2/20/2011
This was very sweet in all the right ways. Wonderful concept.
Jacqueline King chapter 1 . 1/2/2011
The banter in this is perfectly in character! The associations you make are spot on- I could see every one of the team having those fears. I think the one that hit home for me was JJ and the dog... God, that was such a freaky scene. Reminded me of a scene from the comic book Watchmen. But I get away from myself. ;)

Wonderfully written, a nice little snippet into Emily's mind and Reid's. It's not often these two get to spend a lot of time together on the show, but I picture encounters like this.

I loved this! My two nerds together. It struck me here that they understand each other extremely well and I love that you brought that out in such a short but meaningful piece :)

lolyncut chapter 1 . 11/24/2010
These two so belong together. They both are lonely, yet they seem to depend on each other to pull them i[ back to civilization. With the kind of job Emily and Spencer have, it's good they can laugh about something so dismal. Maybe Specner needs to be on Emily's list of "Things Spencer and I can do together, and not get caught!"
68luvcarter chapter 1 . 9/30/2010
Lovely story. I like the friendship stories between Reid and the other characters. I enjoy all the characters but there is something special in the way that Reid relates to all of them. There is a kinship between all of the others with Reid perhaps because he is the youngest but I think it is because he is so innocent in alot of things. He is super smart but there is so much that he doesn't know about due to his childhood. It's like they are all invested in bringing happiness to his life in some form or another whether as a brother or sister or even as a father or mother. Garcia mothers him and Hotch seems to be more protective of him and JJ.
walkingaftermidnight chapter 1 . 9/28/2010
I was putting off reading this oneshot - saving it as a "reward" for when I was done with the completed chapters of your WIP story. And what a sweet little reward it turned out to be!

Good Lord, I love your stories. Like, more than I can express. I think it's partially because I've been searching this godforsaken website for good Criminal Minds fic that stays true to the characters and the show itself. The reason why I love the show is because... well, it's SO GOOD as it is, and I don't particularly enjoy it when authors take too many creative liberties with the characters. It's stories like this that feel like they could be inserted directly into an episode of the show and not feel one bit out of place. You make me want to clap my hands with joy! Lol... look at me getting all worked up.

Okay, my fav parts:

"I'm petrified of becoming my mother." Her voice is serious, and she knows Reid understands.

"I really don't play chess anymore." He confesses.

How PERFECT for these two characters: admitting that they both have "parental" issues. I especially love how you allow Prentiss to acknowledge that Reid feels the same way about "becoming his mother" as she does. That little spark, that moment of connection... priceless.

Also:

I thought if I didn't have a list," he speaks with his face pointing downward, avoiding her eyes once more. "It would be better that way, you know?" She nods because it does seem like a nice alternative. Fear nothing, conquer all. With their job, however, she realizes it's downright impossible.

I think you've provided a beautifully enlightening breakdown/explanation of a concept that is omnipresent throughout the show's various episodes: that of the cases getting inside the agents' heads, and their struggle to deal with the aftermath. This was a very sweet, honest, believable conversation between two friends who both find it difficult to open up about their insecurities. Gah. I could gush about this forever. You're awesome. I've been toying with the idea of writing Criminal Minds fanfic lately, and I've gotta say, your stories are inspiring the hell out of me. Please don't stop writing. :)
MelanieMM chapter 1 . 9/20/2010
I had no idea you even wrote this, i don't know how i missed it, but i love it, for how simple and strong it is, and for making me think. I never really think about how everything they see must affect them in little ways they can afford. So thank you, i hope this means there are more stories in your future:)
Prieva chapter 1 . 8/2/2010
I like the simpleness of this story...The one thing that I can honestly say I dislike about the show is how they never expand upon the characters as much as they could. But I guess it makes me all that much more grateful when I find amazing stories such as this :)
