I have to admit, this is magnificent. I'm always on the lookout for tales of Canada's endeavors in war; I'm thoroughly convinced he was an absolute menace, not at all as weak as people like to portray him. It's short but I can read to Ludwig's fear easily. Ludwig isn't a coward, but Matthew has somehow whipped him over the battlefield (not romantically, unless you ship that).

You have made the world a better place. Like I say, (probably too much) this fandom needs more badass Canadians. Cause anyone who knows their shit about WWI and WWII knows that Canadians literally tore through the German armies.

But you wrote this so you know that.

Waaa~ I'm on a roll. I've been reading your stories non-stop this afternoon, and I'm loving them all. But I have to say, up to this point, this fic has to be my favourite.

I love the portrayal of Matthew-especially as a spy (because everyone assumes that he'd be invisible...which, in this case, he is in a way), as well as the comparison to the cornered animal.

I also like how you showed Germany's frustration and his comparison of Canada to the other countries and himself.

Holy sweet crap was that utterly freaking amazing! I've been dying to read a tale that showed the darker side of Mathew/Canada and you completely captured it perfectly. I know in the cartoons he's portrayed as this sweetheart that's easily forgotten but during both world wars Canadian soldiers were anything but sweet or really captured this so perfectly and I have to say this has definitely become a personal favorite! Wonderful job! m(_ _)m
