csad21 chapter 1 . 5/24/2011 Lovely story! I must admit, this story feeds a need I didn't know I had: an exploration of what happens to the scientist who return to Earth. Now it's only making me crave more of the same. Darnit. *sigh* [ not waste his time on something that his cat could have improved on ] - - Sounds like such a Rodney thing to say. :) - - - - - [ We did because he was always right and because he always worked twice as hard as anyone else ] - - You know, *that* is the reason why his scathing critique can even be suffered, come to think of it. - - - - - [ He has us trained well. And when we return and our work no longer has to meet his standards, we bring him with us. Every report I write, every test I conduct, has a ghostly McKay watching over my shoulder, shouting at me when I let him down. ] - - *giggles* Oh my. Permanently scarred scientists. Why can I imagine only all too that this really is the reality of the scientists with McKay experience? *g* - - - - - [ Publish or perish has always been the scientific mantra, but now scientists around the world long to be offered a chance to do unpublished work. The Nobel prize is still the ultimate official accolade but now it has an unofficial rival. If McKay writes you a letter of recommendation, you can write your own ticket. ] - - As it should be! :) And oh boy, I can't even imagine how flabbergasted and incredulous Rodney would be if he were ever to find out that *he* is a rival to the Nobel prize in the scientific community! Gah! *flails* I don't even know if he would be crushed because the prize he covets isn't as important anymore or if he would be impossible to live with due to smugness. *g* - - - - - [ people who had been good but not outstanding BM (Before McKay) suddenly rose to the top of their fields and, over time, people started to notice. Noticing became talking and man became legend. ] - - Two fun things in this bit: 1) How much do I love that dating system: Before McKay/After McKay? *g* 2) Being the top of their field After McKay? Should be a not so inconsiderable consolation prize for the obliteration of their egos by Rodney. :) - - - - - [ We all talk about him, tell stories of his impatience and snark and perfectionism but there is affection in our words and we will defend him against attacks from outsiders.[...] No one was allowed to abuse the science team but him. ] - - See, that right there is the reason we love SGA in general so much, isn't it? This attitude everyone has about each other? So sweet. - - - - - [ Now we prefer safety and public acknowledgement from our peers and the chance to live our lives and have families but we are still his. If someone were to come to me today or tomorrow or ten years from now and tell me that McKay needed my help, I would go. And so would most of the others. ] - - Possibly perfect ending to a lovely story. |

Harm Marie chapter 1 . 1/13/2011 Really loved this. Outside POV stories are my favorites. |
SailorSilvanesti chapter 1 . 12/17/2010 That was beautiful, well-written and obviously had quite a lot of forethought in it. I loved every word! So, I can say with ease, this is going straight to my favs! Awesome job! |

hajimebassaidai chapter 1 . 6/24/2010 I like the idea of it slowly filtering into the scientific community that anyone with a recommendation from Rodney is worth their weight in gold! |
walk74 chapter 1 . 6/22/2010 I just had to review. This was amazing. You always remember the people that pushed you the farthest and brought out your absolute best. Rodney certainly did that with these people. He may have seemed like a chicken with his head cut off at times, but he always new what was going on around him! |
michelel72 chapter 1 . 6/21/2010 This works nicely. I like the idea that a Trial by McKay is such a proving ground - especially that it takes time for this idea to develop, but that once it takes hold, it's very powerful. Nice job. |
FreakyLeo88 chapter 1 . 6/21/2010 Yay! Go McKay! I just love him! And I think this could actually happen. Great story. It is respectful. And it has that strange side effect of calming me down. It transport a serene feeling. A wonderful story. Greetings Freaky |

flower pot girl chapter 1 . 6/21/2010 Really good and nice to read such a positive approach. People may not have liked him particularly but they had to respect him and come to respect anyone who nearly reached his impossibly high standards! |
deblease chapter 1 . 6/21/2010 That was good, very very good! |
