Reviews for Jeeves & His Master
Sir Weston chapter 2 . 7/15/2014
That's really sad. Such a sad story. Poor Jeeves!
Mockster chapter 2 . 12/19/2010
This is without a doubt amongst the most awe-inspiring pieces I've found on this site. I admit to having started out somewhat dubious. Jeeves, lifting Bertie Wooster out of bed with his own two arms? It seemed oddly incongruous with his character. Then he undressed him and put him in the bath and I was all, well, here's some poorly written slash- Bertie's not even saying anything! And then a piece of Bertie's scalp fell off into the tub and I was yours forever. Holy Fucking Crap.
yyqh chapter 1 . 11/21/2010
Should have seen this coming and prepared myself for it when I read, since it was inspired by the A Rose For Emily. But the bright smile of Bertie in the morning made me forget it all. It was when I reached the part where Jeeves bathed Bertie that I sensed some vague and odd feeling, but it was too late to tear my eyes off it. I had been crying really hard all the time since Bingo revealed the truth. The saddest thing is, it's actually very likely to happen, this kind of tragedy due to trival carelessness on the part of the Drone Club gang. It's very beautifully written, and I COMPLETE LOVE it! Thank you so much for sharing it with us
Sir Weston chapter 1 . 7/25/2010
This is very long, too long for me to read in one sitting, but I like what I've read so far! Good job, cuddle bunny!
igbogal chapter 2 . 7/2/2010
Oh, you don't have to beg for reviews - by all rights, this beautifully written, sensitively executed, and exquisitely tragic story should have tons of the things. I've seen the TV series but I've just started reading the books, so I don't know how far Wodehouse ended up taking Jeeves and Bertie's relationship. However, I always felt that when love pierced Jeeves' majestic reserve, it would be like a peat fire - hot, slow burning, and dangerous. So the poor man's plight here seems plausible...I was also impressed by the shocking way you showed, about a quarter of the way through chapter one, that the typically infalliable valet is in fact an unreliable narrator as we realize what happened to Bertie. Then there was the other great twist at the end, with the doc revealing the use of a dummy (I'd assumed a doctor was impersonating Bertie to surreptitiously treat Jeeves). Bravo!
Auburn Red chapter 1 . 6/3/2010
Wow, that was good! For those who thought Jeeves was OOC, everyone has kinks in their armour and no one knows how a person would act in every given time. Jeeves as we know is a genius and sometimes with genius also comes madness. Unfortunately, I can see him losing sight of his faculties like this. (In fact I have often on and off thought of a story where Jeeves does some very mad unlikely things and needs Bertie's help rather than the other way around.) Very good, very very good!
reader.ru chapter 2 . 6/3/2010
i cried by eyes out...

it was utterly heartbreaking, but wonderfully written..

poor Bertie, and even pooer Jeeves, its always harder to move on.
Chaotic-Theoretician chapter 1 . 6/2/2010
Well, well, well, this is certainly BEYOND what I was expected! (This is Chaotic_Theoretician from Gaia, by the way.) I certainly didn't expect a story from Jeeves's point of view...and to think that there is such an ODD twist to this tale! Absolutely extraordinary. I didn't even understand what was going on until Mister Little mentioned mercury. At that point, I was sure of what had happened. I have to commend you for that. Oftentimes, I am well aware of the ending to such stories right off from the beginning. Bravo.

I love your use of various sophisticated words in such a wide expanse of a vocabulary. It did indeed seem like Jeeves. The only thing that I have to say was that it did seem a little like a TV-show canon, only because we - as readers of the Jeeves and Wooster saga, if you will - are familiar with Wooster narrating, not Jeeves.

All in all, this was a fantastic read. The mere fact that Wooster seemed so ill and unresponsive kept me reading, only to find out what was ailing him. What a twist! And, again, poor Jeeves. What with the hallucinations due to the morphine and the deep NEED that Wooster needed to be alive, the poor man was going insane in only the way that intellects - or, as we should say, 'paragons of wisdom' - do.

I hope to read more!
