This is actually quite interesting. I don't usually read the 2010 Alice stories, they have a particular vein that they all run in, but this is actually quite...different. I am most definitely interested in seeing whatever way you take it.

This story (or first chapter anyway) has amazing potential! I love your spin on how Under/Wonderland came into existance, through mists and whisps of dreams that failed to solidify, and how Alice's affection for Dinah kept Chess 'alive.' The voice in which you write with is addictive and smooth, and as much as I would like to critique, I can't find anything to complain about. :D

However, I would suggest that, if you expand this story, to keep it in third person - the writing style is great. But, seeing as I haven't seen anything from Chess's POV, I really can't say if I would prefer it over 3rd person. I'm just going on what I know.

You certainly have me interested - I want to know who this 'nightmare with a name' is, although I suspect it's someone we're familiar with; the Jabberwocky, maybe?

Anyway, maybe once you expand this I'll have a bit more critique to offer - or maybe I'll just continue to shower you with parise. :)

Oh man, I LOVE this! A very original idea about how his character developed! I can't wait for him to find some dreams and ideas who are as substantial as he is
