*claps* You caught them so well, their banter and especially his comments. And of course that she's only realizing what he was telling her the whole time and what the reader knew already at the end. I was grinning like an idiot the whole time. Very well done!

And, by the way - who wouldn't want to own a Tony Stark? Though I wouldn't mind if this went with his nice technology toys...

But now that I know you a tiny itsy bitsy better, I feel obliged to comment.

This story is perfect. It leaves the reader wanting more more more. Which is a must for one shot :)

The conversation is so perfect, really - something I definitely see happening between the two of them. (Geez, what a lame review sentence).

I always get mad at stories that make them say things they wouldn't really say. After watching the movies, intently listening to their conversations - it's always been a professional talk between them, really carefully touching more personal notes. Exactly how you presented in this story. It's never really a talk between two *friends*, but a talk between people who really familiar with each other, appreciate and respect each other but forced keep their distance. Even when Tony is being himself and shooting her "You don't want to see me? You don't miss me?", he lets her have her space. So many stories make him too forceful...

It's so great how you make all the belly butterflies go mad with the subtle notes of affection throughout their conversation. It make me want to read this story forever, you know. Like a drug.

And for the stuff that's going on between the lines (of the conversation).

"He leaned back, his eyebrows shooting to his forehead, but he didn't disagree."

This little sentence says so much. Cause he meant it , but not as harassment, but voicing it as such it's the only way to say it to her. It just proves that that Pepper cares about him, she doesn't see it as harassment, though any other assistant would.

They do have their own private world, where everything has much more meaning than it sounds.

This:

"...smirking and leaning back, shifting his legs apart and resting his hands on the tops of his thighs...

...She busied herself with Very Important Executive Duties involving looking down and fumbling with pens and numbers and paper."

is HOT, in my sometimes perverted mind :)

""Wow," he said, shaking his head. "I thought it was a joke by the guys in R&D."

"Not a joke."

"So it really is a thing."

"It really is a thing."

"A real thing."

"It's the law," she said swiftly, because Tony could – and would – keep this up for hours if she'd let him."

And we love when he does. She loves it too.

Aha. I love the end. I love all of it really, but I particularly love how Pepper finally realizes what he's been hinting at with the subtlety of a missile the entire time. Her affection for him is also adorable. :)

*blushing* That was steamy! The last line was just omg fantastic! But I don't think I would sue Tony for harassment. Dang sure wouldn't sue Robert Downey Jr! *swoons* I wish it was another chapter! But this was 100 golden stars! Loved it! :D

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That was absolutely freaking priceless, gahahaha. xD I totally caught on to what Tony was doing halfway through this fic and kept waiting for him to proverbially pounce. It amused me way too much when Pepper *finally* caught on at the end.

...although, I suppose I can assume Natal Day as a sort of sequel for this lovely fic. Yes, that would work very nicely. Mwuahaha.

How did I miss this story? I love the banter that you have between them, you writing could fit right in the flow of the actual script. That goes for all of your Tony/Pepper fic's.

I love Robert Downey Jr also. Really good story. I think you captured their personalities perfectly.
