You really had some great lines in this chapter! I liked the idea that he had the thought that HE wasn't like his father, SHE was. I'm glad he is looking forward to meeting their baby. I'm also glad Kagome persisted when she asked if he loved her and told him that sometimes humans needs words. And the ending line was perfect. So nice!

I'm still confused. Now his mother is saying if he had mated a demoness that all of this would have gone away. What? And why did he think his mark on her would have protected Kagome from his mother killing her? I don't think his thinking has been clear ever since he almost died. And he never even said anything to the brother he has never met before.

Very interesting. But why is Sesshoumaru planning to die? That would insure that Kagome will die by his mother's hand. So, he wouldn't be leaving anything behind after all.

You really threw me with the start of this chapter after the way the other one ended. So, he went ahead and made her his mate, but didn't let her know. Wow! I am confused by what he told Inuyasha, though. He is going to fight his other brother, right? So, why does Inuyasha say he is no match for his mother? And Sesshoumaru agrees and says he will die. If Sesshoumaru dies, the deal is that his mother will kill Kagome, not his child. He still has several weeks left to try to sire a child, so why is he leaving to fight now?

Okay, I guess I misunderstood Sesshoumaru's intentions in the last chapter. I thought he had chosen her, but he didn't. He knows he doesn't want any of the female demons and that she is different, and she meets all of his criteria, but he won't make her his mate because she's human. How disappointing. So sad. Why must our beloved heroine always go through so much pain and angst? Poor Kagome.

I laughed when he was thinking about his specifications for what he wanted in a woman and he listed "dark hair." Yep. Deep down, he knew who the perfect woman for him was. And yet it still took her calling him because her neck was bleeding for him to truly look at her. I really loved the way you had him deciding he wanted someone to look at him the way she did. That was beautiful. I also loved the last line. Perfect.

Glad he can see instantly that none of the females that came for him to choose from are right. Her question about the placement of mating marks was interesting.

She already has the love and respect of his people-something that he lacks. It's so obvious she's the right choice.

Hmmm. So, he actually is planning to find another woman for his mate. With the time constraints, and the fact that he is already using her blood, I would think he might at least consider her. And Inuyasha showed up! What timing!

Kagome made a deal to let his mother kill her instead of his baby if he loses. That sounds like something she would do. And he has eight weeks to find a woman and get her pregnant. I kind of thought he had Kagome in mind already, but maybe not.

I really like the idea that he needs to fix up his father's home and that he needs to take up his title. Interesting that he had her go with him.

I'm intrigued that you used Takemaru in this. I rarely see much from the movies in fanfiction stories. Sesshoumaru's near death has really made him examine his life and his goals/future.

Their conversation revealed a lot. I don't like the thought that Kikyou ended up being the hero of the battle with Naraku and was recognized as the jewel's guardian. Now I see where you were going with the vampire stuff.

So, Inuyasha refused to help him and left with Kikyou, and Kouga helped-even gave him some blood! This is very, very interesting! And now Kagome is giving him some of her blood. This is a very interesting style you are writing in.

Such an intriguing opening chapter!
