This is one of my favorite Transforner stories I have ever read on Fanfiction; next to Haunted, Light's Out and Screamer.

I would like to know what Optimus and Starscream were saying, before the Seeker died in the Autobot's arms.

Still one of my favourite Starscream/Optimus one-shots.

Love the death. Please do more like this. I just love a good death and tragedy with a bit of romance mixed in like this story. Keep it up.

i actually hate character deaths. but, to be perfectly honest with myself, i've been imagining on how starscream would protect optimus, revealing his loyalty, and how optimus would be beyond furious that star got hurt.

i never thought of the spark bond and optimus dying along, but it is fitting, i guess. better than to live alone, in misery

so, in a way, this is both my dream and nightmare come true.

For something so short...that's kinda intense. Reminds of that sparkling programming they have (scary stuff. wouldn't want to be the reason a sparkling was injuried...or dying)

Is this an AU? If it is, just ignore the following.

First, I could believe there was something going on between Optimus and Starscream, but there is no way Starscream would have sacraficed himself like that. If anything, he would have rammed Megatron from the air, forcing him to miss the shot. Then he would make up some excuse and beg Megatron not to shoot him in retaliation.

Starscream has a large ego, but he is also sneaky, underhanded, and a coward.

Next, is the scene between Soundwave and Megatron. You said Soundwave wouldn't help him based on Cybertronian laws. Decepticons do not follow Cybertonian laws. At all. Or the war would never have started.

Soundwave may leave Megatron to his death for other reasons, but laws would not be one of them.

Again, if this some AU, this obviously doesn't apply. Thank you for your time. :)

Great short story. Know what wood be really cool? It would be really cool if you did a follow up to it with an alternate ending. Remember the Starscreams ghost episode? So what would happen to Optimus if Starscream became a ghost rather then dying completely and permanently? And what if Megatron's spark didn't crack but the cracking sound had something to do with Optimus's battle injuries instead? Now I realize this was mean as a one shot, but I hope you do a follow up story to it. One last thing, though I really love this short story I was a bit confused about it so I decided to assume you were writing an AU version of things because, didn't Megatron survive (barely) to become Galvatron, and Starscream become a ghost who later somehow got a body again from Unicron, and didn't Optimus survive at least long enough to pass on the Matix (in the G1 related movie)? Anyhow... I DID Love this story. Good work and keep up the good writing.
