Ah, I love this! It's the perfect length, just long enough but still pretty short! Such a pivotal moment in DH for me. Your story contains an emotional moment, but not an unrealistically emotional moment with Dumbledore making lengthy speeches about his love for Harry, which he never would have done. I like that you tie it all to a single moment, a facial expression. That is so much more suitable. This is the perfect glimpse of a scene. Drawing it out would diminish its poignancy and intensity.

I also think the link makes complete sense now that you point it out. Of course Hermione could have known anyway that Dumbledore loved Harry or could have said it to comfort her friend, but this makes complete sense because she does say in the first book that "Dumbledore was so worried". Well spotted.

The other nice touch about this is that she only remembers this when Harry is taken away from Dumbledore's body. There's something very touching and sad about that. Nicely done!

That was really lovely, espeicially that line about Dumbledore's infintely loving face. The ending was sad, but hopefully Harry does come to realise that Dumbledore loved him, because he most certainly did. It was an adorable missing scene story, which should have been in the books. Just one tiny thing is the formatting, the way you space the lines, makes the story really hard to read, other than that excellent story.
