I just stayed up till 3 in the morning to read all of this, and it was awesome. Great Fanfic! ;)

Was just browsing through the very small VP fandom here, and came across this lovely gem.

It was very beautifully written, even if you say it isn't your best. The pacing was fairly well decided, and I think the characterization was pretty good.

I was kind of suspect about the rapid shift of emotions in a certain somber swordsman at first, but then thought about it a bit. Certainly, those unused to the wonderfully world of romance could be easily influenced; or those unused to female acquaintance; or those drinking. In the end, it works, and that's all that matters.

I was kind of hoping for a bit more background info in there from the time of the game, but it's fine. There was more then enough subtle hints to the happenings that we could figure out went on.

And you say it was a bit sappier then your usual, but it wasn't overtly so in anyway. The amount of nice active scenes or simple talks were nicely done, and the few bits of sappier romance or heart-to-hearts were inserted thoughtfully.

Overall, I'm extremely happy that a story like this had made it's way on over. Well written work from talented authors is more then rare in this fandom. Hope you keep on writing whatever; it's a wonderful hobby to pursue!

Having just finished the game in the "A" ending, I finally found sense in the story. When I first read, I was like, what in the world? (For the most part) But in any case, I absolutely love this. Everyone was in such character and the plot canon, I would've believed that you might have well written the storyline for the actual game! The medieval language was supurb and didn't miss a beat. The dialogue was well-written in grammar and year. (It didn't sound modern is my intention for 'year')

It was slow, well-paced, and sweet. In my opinion, it wasn't overdone in romance and yet maintained a balance between agony, love, friendship, comfort, and violence. This is what I call a perfect fiction. Canon characters, complete plot, and balance. I'm so glad to see that there are those who can write good fanfictions on this site. Gives me hope. Thank you for writing :)

So I plugged this couple into the search engine, not really expecting to find anything at all. I was very surprised to find, not only a fanfic, but a good fanfic.

I do agree with you in that these two characters seem to fit together, so you can add one person to your list of people who read this.

The story flowed well, it gave great descriptions of every situation, so I could not only imagine the surroundings, but the feelings of the people involved. Everything about it just seemed to fit together. Also, the one line from Ceripha,

"What's done is done, and however much we may wish for it, we cannot change the past. But, if you like, I can help you make sure it doesn't rule your future."

That is just a powerful line that just seems to tie everything together. Great job, I hope you keep up the good work.

Been awhile since I've ventured into the Valkyrie Profile section, mainly because CotP is the only one in the series I've played and there are so few stories for it. Even fewer that aren't M/M (I don't care if that's what other people enjoy, I don't personally). Anyway,I enjoyed this story. I'm glad you took the approach of building things up slowly and taking the time to get in their heads and explore their thoughts/feelings. I like the WylxCheripha pairing when Wyl has the type of personality you've got here - basically a good guy that let his anger get him sucked into a "deal with the devil" so to speak that he wasn't at all prepared to deal with the full implications of, and as a result has a lot of self-loathing going on for his actions in all of it (I also like WylxLiese when Wyl is given a darker personality).

There were some minor grammatical/typographical issues here and there in the story, but not enough to be distracting.

What worked especially well in your story I thought was the general theme that Wyl needed to forgive himself before he could move on, before he could allow himself to be accepted by others as anything more than a tool capable of getting a job done. Nice job in drawing that out in your writing. And I think the more subtle theme of Cheripha patiently accepting Wyl as is, without pressuring him to open up or change who he is, makes the evolution of their relationship feel very natural and compelling. It takes talent to write a story that is effectively a romance but at the same time keeping that element a subtle undercurrent beneath the surface, and a lot of authors have a hard time resisting the urge to push romance plot threads forward too quickly. So I'm impressed that you handled it so appropriately.

Okay, this is a very good piece of work, Wylfred is just like that, but... But how in the world you played the game if you got the "good" ending? My ending... Well, I think it was the worst that there can be. Yes, I killed the Valkyrie, but I killed nine of my ten companions on the way, so, for all my sins I was sent to Hell and Artolia was torn apart by war, mostly because of my actions. So, yeah. Not a very happy ending in here, but a very good fic in there and I like my ending, so all is well. thank you for this! (It was also a little odd to see Cheripha alive, she was the first I killed after Ancel.)

Finally, some love for this pairing! I've always liked these two, and you've done a great job of characterizing them here. A very well done fic all around.
